The keys do not give a good pitch, so this is essentially just a novelty gift. The carrying case is a nice touch, but the sheet music is for someone who already knows how to read music.

This xylophone is well made and it has an accurate sound. It comes with a very nice travel bag and the two wooden sticks are lightweight but well made. The only thing that I would have a challenge with is if this is for a beginner it might be too much. The xylophone is set up c d e f g a b c. But in the practice song it doesn’t show the alphabet for a new learner. And some of the songs are really challenging for someone who’s just starting out. This is nice for someone who wants to give it to a child that can just play and listen to the sounds. For somebody who has some musical education they might be able to play these songs but a beginner won’t be able to. It’s a nice gift for a child. But it’s also well constructed enough for someone who’s a little older.

I bought this for my 3 yr old grandson as a Christmas present but the box has written all over it ‘SMALL PARTS NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN’. I looked it over and don’t see anything small except the screw caps that hold the keys in place. The advertisement says for ages 3 and over, but a 3yr old still puts things in their mouth and if those caps come off they can choke on them! So what is it, Is this child safe or not??? I’m not taking any chance and am not going to give it to a toddler when it says it’s not for small kids.

The xylophone is as-described/pictured in the listing: solid wood and metal. Lacquer on keys is vibrant and smooth, and the keys produce a clean/accurate tone. The set comes in a cotton gift/storage bag, which is GREAT for protecting the xylophone and keeping the mallets from getting lost.
The included music book is a nice touch, but will be too complicated/advanced for young children who cannot read music notation. The complexity of the music book is frankly a bit of a mismatch with the size of the instrument, which is probably most suited to toddlers and preschoolers. I would think any child old enough to actually use the music book will want a real xylophone to learn/practice on, and this, though well made, is definitely more of a toy.
That said, I didn’t deduct any stars because the music book is really just a nice add-on; the xylophone itself is exactly what I was looking for and I appreciate the storage bag as a more useful extra touch.

It is wooden, looks exactly like the picture, comes with the song book, 2 wood hammers (great for a spare) and a carry bag. The bag is not big enough to put the xylo in and close it though. But other than that it feels pretty sturdy and the 2 year old loves it and has been bashing on it for the last 4 days so id say it pretty decent

Bought for my kids ,It has enough notes to play some famous nursery rhymes with the help of easy to read color coded sheet music. It sounds great, is well made, and has the right tone. The music cards are great too . It also comes with a bag for easy portability.
