Oster 4-Slice Stainless Steel Digital Toaster

After more than 16 years, I had to look for a new toaster. I had the Oster 4 slice toaster, and it worked great for years, but unfortunately I accidentally dropped something in the toaster and then it melted in there.
At first I was going to just get the same toaster, but wanted to see what else was available. My biggest complaint on my old toaster was uneven toasting. One side would be toasted more and you’d have to flip the bread or whatever you’re toasting and toast it again to get even toasting. So I really wanted something that was more consistent. I researched a lot of toasters and unfortunately there are so many options and so many opinions, it was really hard to choose. But this Oster toasted had the highest percentage of 5 star reviews by a lot and other video reviews showed even toasting so I decided to try it and I’m so glad we did. I just got the two slicer this time instead of the four.
– The display light front works great for me whether the lights in the kitchen are on or off. (Took a pic of both for reference). The only time it was a little harder to see is if it’s right underneath our under cabinet lights but even then it wasn’t bad.
-We love the countdown feature but sometimes the kids get confused and think they selected the level 6 toasting since the timer starts at the top and I have to remind them that it’s just the timer.
-The quick peek and extra 30 sec toasting are also awesome features. I took pics of levels 2,3 and 4 toasting. It toasted evenly on each side. Occasionally I’ll toast it for 30 seconds more. Levels 3-4 are the ideal doneness for us.

So far we really love this toaster and hope it works for another 16 years! It looks sleek and modern on the counter.

We’re very happy with this new toaster. It looks nice, but does it work well? It does. The touch buttons are nice and responsive and we’ve gotten the right number dialed in. Very happy!

Despite the box being partly destroyed in Prime shipping, the toaster was in perfect condition and works as it should. Yes, some of the lights are a little dim on the readout, but if you have it on a countertop and under some cabinets, you probably will have no problems at all. Anyway, most are just going to use it for toast, and the lights indicating toasting progress are brighter. It remembers your last setting if you leave it plugged in, and defaults to a reasonable “4” darkness when unplugged. The only ding I give it is that the handle on the lever for lowering the toast is just chromed plastic, like my old model cars, and looks pretty cheap. Toasting performance is very good and consistent. Too early to tell about longevity.

From what we can see some of the elements inside the toaster are not working (upon arrival) and in order to return it, I have to pay for shipping (no small amount). I will never buy from a third party seller. The AtoZ return doesn’t seem to be working either. Save yourself the trouble.

I don’t usually get excited about appliances, but this sure brought a smile to my face. The price is fair, the service in receiving it was the usual good Amazon experience. Now about the toaster. It’s flat out pretty. The design is like nothing else out there. It’s super easy to use. It toasts beautifully be it a slice of bread or a bagel. Several people have mentioned that the face panel is pale. I’ve had no problem seeing it. Also, after a few days, you know where the setting is that you want so you don’t even have to look for it. Also, I love the feature that allows me to see how much toasting time is left. Your toast pops up when done and you can easily lift the lever to raise it high enough not to burn your fingers when taking it out of the toaster. I did go ahead and buy the extended warranty. The price spread over a 3 year period is cheap insurance that the toaster is covered. This was an excellent choice. If you buy this toaster, you’ll keep it.

I have purchased several toasters over the past few months in an attempt to find one that evenly toasts on both sides of the bread. I accidentally discovered this on cyber Monday and decided to give it a try after seeing all the positive reviews. When it arrived I immediately plugged it in and ran it without bread to eliminate any odors. I was so happy to see that ALL the elements were working perfectly which means EVEN toasting. Then I put in some bread and started to experiment with the browning levels. I use level 4 the most. So far I have used regular bread, English muffins and bagels. My only issue is that the bagel function doesn’t work. It toasts on both sides not just the cut side of the bagel So only 4 stars instead of Five for that reason. But otherwise I LOVE this toaster! It is absolutely beautiful and blends well with my other appliances The features I really appreciate are the quick check lever and the countdown button. The controls on my toaster are well illuminated and easy to see. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a great toaster.
