I love this HH stand. Feels solid and precise. Real great for the open accents.

I love Pearl equipment and have a lot of it, but this stand needs some work. To start, the adjustment of the spring tension does not have a very good range. even with all the way loose, the pedal has a significant amount of resistance. I realize a lot of this has to do with the resistance of the cable, but the spring still is very strong with it all the way loose. Second thing being the most important thing, and that’s the spinning. I have an electric set, so its important for the cymbal to not spin due to striking zones and cables. I currently have to use the cables to keep the cymbal from spinning which is not ideal. The spinning is due to the ease of twisting of the cable, but what I don’t understand is why they didn’t place something in the head that holds the hi hat to keep from the rod spinning, such as a square portion of the rod traveling inside a square hole for one idea. Being made by Pearl, I am not impressed.

The cable broke after only 2 years of use. Never abused or even taken out of my practice space. A stand in this price range should be better than that! I couldn’t find any info from Pearl. I have managed to order a new cable with delivery time unknown. I would like an option of a shorter cable but only one length available. Replacement is not easy!
Charles Slater –
Fantastic and well built stand, will not work unfortunately with two piece electric drum cymbals. One piece no problem but not 2.
R. P. Moore –
I purchased this stand, I have owed DW Hi Hat Stands, and I own a Sonor 600 Series Hi Hat Stand. I received this stand via shipping by UPS. So I did not get an opportunity to touch it prior to purchase, if I had I would have never bought it. The metal tubing/pipe used is so this, it feels like a toy, and I probably could have bent it over my knee (I didn’t try that). Fit and finish – It looks nice, but the quality is terrible. The engineering behind it is to be commended. But the build materials and other aspects of the product are beyond sub-par compared to much better made Hi Hat Stands by DW and Sonor (Perhaps others, but those are my own comparison experiences). I would not even keep this stand if it was given to me for free, sorry.. no thanks. Pearl has a great name, but they need to step up their hardware build quality more than a few notches.

Changing the cams isn’t as straightforward as the directions would lead you to believe. Also I’m a little concerned about the long-term durability but so far it’s been solid.
Alessandro Vasquez –
The cable broke after 4 month
Gary K Chin –
Great addition to my kit!
Kevan Long –
Yes! This revolutionized my playing, inspired me. It’s solidly built, has smooth action, and is everything I was looking for. Look up Harry Miree’s YouTube video on open-handed drumming and break free from tradition!

Good product, wish the description would mention that it comes with a drop clutch, would’ve saved me from ordering one. Other than that seems like a solid stand
