I bought this used at a local music shop two years ago for $140. Not bad since the other bass for sale was a cheaper Semisonic short-scale that didn’t sound nearly as good. Mine is a model IV, my first band’s guitarist had a model III that sounded beautiful and played really nice. I love the variety of tones that these basses have, it’s a very eclectic and all-purpose bass.
The only problem I had with mine is one of the pickups was buzzy. To access the electronics, you have to take off the volume & tone knobs and then take off the pickguard, which I couldn’t for the life of me. Those knobs ain’t budging. So I just play thru the other pup without complaint. It still sounds good regardless, just not as trebly as its other buzzy pup. The bass is a bit big & long for me, given my short stature, so the 34″ scale might be a hassle to you short bassists who might need to consider getting a short-scale bass. I just deal with it, since I usually just record with it when needed. I haven’t played any gigs with it yet, but I’m sure it would sound good live. It sounds great thru my little guitar amp, seriously!
This is a great bass that doesn’t get nearly enough credit as it should compared to Fenders and the like. This plays and sounds really good (even just recording direct into my 16track recorder, which I’ve done on numerous songs since buying it). For beginners, moderates like me, or pros, this bass is an underrated gem.

My Peavey Milestone bass arrived with a dried-out fingerboard, jagged fret ends, a high nut, pickup height adjustment not working, and a metric (not English) output jack. All these problems were easily correctible, so I didn’t return it. Now that I’ve got it fixed up, I like it, but I expect a product to be delivered in usable condition.
