I was excited to get a metal scooper since my plastic one broke under load. The scoop is adequately wide and the holes allow only litter to fall through. The handle is comfortable to grip and is a rubber material like bike handle bars. However, the metal shaft (tang?) from the scoop only goes into the grip by and inch or two. This means when scooping deep in the box the handle grip bends/flexes. It feels like after some usage the handle grip will tear at the rubber and break. If the metal from the scoop went all the way up the grip this would be a slam dunk.

I foolishly bought a litter scoop at dollar tree. It was so flimsy it would bend when trying to scoop out the clumps and stuff. I threw it out the minute this scoop arrived. After going through countless plastic poop scoops, this steel scoop was a pleasant surprise. Build quality is superb, very sturdy. The scoop is of a large size, which should be noted.
The holes on the scoop’s head are big enough to let dry litter fall through but small enough to catch any poop or clumped litter, perfect.

I can’t see there ever being the need to replace this scoop, I’m very happy with this product.

WELL. My cat notoriously takes massive dumps (don’t worry, she’s fine) and I’ve snapped three plastic scoopers.
I thought this time, I’d better go for something stronger, larger and able to stand against the massive mounds of my feline friend. So far, after about two months, nothing has stood a chance against this scooper. Also what’s great is that unlike the cheap plastic scoopers, the outer surface stays clean, shiny and strong; it doesn’t scrape/scratch down or buff away like the plastic scoopers do. Easy to clean, and comfortable to hold, this scooper is a litter box game changer. It makes me look forward to the daily scoop. The large cup makes it a faster task and allows me to get on with my other daily chores!
