This is a nicely designed cage. I love the big door and the way it’s all laid out. Unfortunately, it’s poorly made … it’s similar to IKEA-made products (or worse): functional but won’t last very long. The cage is made of metal that’s slightly stronger and thicker than a coat hanger you get from the dry cleaners. The legs are a little bit sturdier but they’re attached to the bottom (they snap on) of the plastic tray. The whole cage is wobbly.
You have to assemble it and unfortunately, the pieces don’t fit together very well. To avoid having a piece of the cage fall off unexpectedly one day, I used plastic ties to secure all the pieces. Use 2-3 plastic ties per edge and then snip off the ends. Also secure the cage to the bottom plastic tray with plastic ties. They’re supposed to snap together, but they came off rather easily.

Ok so I bought this for my parakeets after I added two play mates to the one budgie I had. I love the cage. It is pretty the birds stand out. It’s huge my budgies can stretch out their wings and fly to the perches. They r very comfortable and chirp. In the small cage they were grumpy. The reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is a a little wobbly and you pretty much had to figure out how to put it yourself as the instructions were few and useless. So it does take some time to set it up. But overall I really liked it. I think two cockatiels would for nicely. Love birds and finches. But I wouldn’t put any birds bigger than these. Also the huge cage for the price is amazing and a bonus. Tried finding a medium cage to large in all the pet stores but alas I couldn’t find any. The cheapest was $130 for a decent cage smaller than this. All other cages ran $200-300 for one that was this size with stand and not a huge expensive cage for parrots. Inside the cage has two wooden perches and two dishes for food and water. It had a pull out tray for easy cleaning. I added a few accessories. Here are a few pics. Hope this helps.

Great cage. I have a young canary and this works great. He can fly around and get exercise.
Pros:
Size: The width is great for canaries to stretch their wings. It holds branches and toys, etc.
Shape: No wasted space with ornate curves or couplas you see on some cages
Cups: I like the cover on the feed cups. NOTE: I took the cover off the water cup – canaries are quite the bathers and can drowned trying to get in the cup if it has a cover. Not an issue with the seed cup and the cover cuts down on scattered seed.
Tray: The pull out tray fits a ledger size piece of paper exactly (aka tabloid, 17″ x 11″) – super handy.
Shelves: The shelves are great to hold food and his cover.
Con:
The whole unit is not that sturdy. I don’t feel like it will fall apart, but I could see it getting knocked over if in a high traffic area. Also – a bigger bird might cause the cage to move about. BUT – for a little bird like a canary, it is great!
Overall I love this cage. It’s probably big for a canary and designed with different birds in mind but my bird loves it and has plenty of room to fly and be active.

a top I can lift off. Could be made a bit sturdier though but with a little fixing I made it work. (Twist ties)

I bought this for my 2 society finches and I love it! It’s larger than I thought! looks even better in person! Yes it’s a little wobbly but only when you open the big door but not when the birds are flying around or anything and needs a little playing around bending adjustments but a GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY!!!!!! the bottom rack is nice for keeping their cage cover blanket nice and neat! I would recommend it to a friend!

This is difficult to assemble taking over 2 hours flimsy, fell apart after 5 days did not get it at amazon, contacted prevue and they never responded after 3 attempts will never buy another prevue product DO NOT BUY THIS CAGE

I just acquired a Cockatiel that came from an owner who #1, had a crappy and filthy cage & #2 no toys whatsoever since they removed them after it’s mate died (clearly she favored the one that had died). I wanted a fresh, clean and more spacious start for him and was excited by the size, shape and cost of this cage. However, aside from it’s cuteness, it was in fact very easy to assemble but the quality of this cage is not very good. It came to me packaged securely but after opening it, I discovered numerous chips in the paint throughout the cage frame. You also have to crimp the “tabs” for security and no matter what I did to protect the metal from the tool including using cloth as a buffer, basic pressure caused the paint to continue to chip…..If it wasn’t for the affordability compared to store bought cages of the same style/dimensions, I would never have purchased this, it is very “wobbly,” luckily my Cockatiel is fairly small for it’s age because a bird of any larger size would surely make this cage inefficient. It serves it’s purpose and I got what I paid for……
