I’m delighted with this string! I bought the A and D only to give the gut core string a try. There is a lot more tuning involved but I expected that. The D is loop only so you will have the remove the fine tuner to loop the string directly into the tailpiece. The A alone is made for the fine tuner in mind. The sound is bright and vibrant and yet subtle. There will be adjustments I have to make in my bowing to really coax out it’s great sound but am having fun in the process! Not recommended for beginning cellists. The modern strings have only been around for perhaps 70 years so most standard cello repertoire into the late 19th and 20th century (Shostakovich, Dvorak, etc) was written with gut strings in mind. They are not just meant for Baroque players. I will likely try the G and C as well come next pay cycle.
