Soda –
UPS box was in horrible condition. Bolts were ascrew in bottom of box, box was ripped on corners. Cage has minor damage to bars and door latch but hubby is a metal expert so he straightened out imperfections. Bought used but saved 300.00! Orherwise hubby said cage is very well constructed. Please understand that instructions for novice are vague.

My Senegal parrot is enjoying this cage. It’s a good size for him, and I LOVE that there is no paint on the bars. He was biting the bars every time I put him inside his old cage, at least when I was still home and he wanted out. Problem solved. He doesn’t bite these bars, and even if he did, there is no longer any paint to worry about. Yay! The playtop is nice, too. He likes hanging out up there when he’s out. The cage was pretty easy to put together, even for a non-handyman type like me.

This was the most affordable stainless steel cage I could find. I have a meyers parrot who chewed the powder coating off of two other cages, so he needed stainless steel for his safety. The cage is a little small for my meyers but the bar spacing would be too wide for birds much smaller. The bar spacing for this cage (medium) is 3/4 inch. I was not able to buy the large size cage because the bar spacing is 1 inch. It is safe, escape proof and was easy to assemble on my own. It also looks nice and is easy to clean. Two of the bowls are way too deep but are good for filling with paper and foraging toys. It is pretty short and low to the ground which can be a downside depending on the birds comfort. My bird isn’t always comfortable going lower than the food bowls in this cage which means a lot of wasted cage space. If you have a bird that is around the size of a meyers/Senegal and the bird gets a ton of time out, this cage is fine.

This cage was brilliantly engineered but the instructions were insufficient (i.e. not even indicating top and bottom of the MANY pieces). (Took me a couple of hours to assemble) The food trays will have to be replaced by shallower ones but other than that it’s a great cage that doesn’t take up too much space, clever locks and little doors that swing open with food trays make it extra easy to clean and fill food trays. Parrot took to it right away. Love that it’s stainless steel and was in my price range.

I love that this cage is stainless steel. Since my parrot started chewing the paint of his previous (perfect) cage, we had to find a new stainless steel cage because the paint from the wonderful cage raised his zinc levels. This was reasonably priced and Prevue has a great reputation. We have a carry cage by Prevue that has a fairly good design. although these are the complaints, we are happy enough with this cage for our parrot. It was easy to put together and my parrot likes the playtop. but here are the issues…
* The playtop has 2 layers of cage and a pull out tray. we were unable to use the tray because once you figure out how to add items to the playtop the connectors that are screwed on underneath for those items (perches for the bird to stand on) the tray won’t fit anymore so I use that tray under the cage to catch his poop when he sits on the door.
* The front door is the one and ONLY way to get inside the cage. This makes cleaning inside and putting in and removing paper, very awkward and if you are not nimble, flexible or if you are significantly large, you will have issues getting in there to clean up and change the paper everyday, or every other day.
There should have been a side and/or back door as well.
* The food bowls do not have any system to secure them and my parrot LOVES to dump out food and/or water of all 4 bowls! The carry cage by the same company has a wonderful very easy system to secure the bowls. Those bowls have tiny knobs that fit into a groove on the circle and then you can twist the bowl so the knob stops the bowl from being able to shake or come out.
WHY did Pervue not create that system on this cage that costs over $700!!??
* The bowls on top are useless because my parrot loves to throw them out. He considers it a game and it’s infuriating. The arms for those bowls are constructed terribly and the screw comes loose everyday. Those top bowls are supposed to shift but the screw comes out and has to be tightened every few days.
* There were some scratches on certain areas. For over $700, I would have preferred there be none.
I would never recommend buying this cage! There are too many little flaws and i very much regret not buying a better cage that offered better details. I might sell this one snd never buy another Pervue product again.
Though polite & listened to my gripes, they offer little to no resolution and are not very helpful!

I have two of these and was able to order extra parts/perches from the company. The customer service is easy to deal and the owner Jason is nice.
I had some initial issues with a part that was damaged during shipping and they took care of it! I orderd another of them because these will last a lifetime.
Expect fine/microscracthes, outside this is shipped and packedwell. Also expect you may need to return it due to shipping, one part had a dent but I was able to replace it.
Very clean out the box but I did wash each part and assembled. You may see residue from glue, tape or the packing corners. Use barkeep friend to help remove during washing.
Expect 1-2 hours between washing, drying and assembly.
Pros: Everything, i mean everything is stainless stainless. Washed tested and zero rust on any part or screw.
Other: the top tray for the playtop blocks more light then you would wish. Be preparred to move near lighted areas to make up for it, if needed. This is an issue for any playtop with a tray, you could remove and not use the tray as an option.
Cons: May have to deal with damaged part but paitence will get it replaced/fixed/compensated.
Would but again if I had more birds 10/10
