Great product! Keys were a little sticky but a small price to pay for a sousaphone! This was a gift for a buddy and he loved it!

Sousaphone met my expectations. For the price what else can you ask for. It did have a stain on the horn , probably fro the tape which it was wrapped with. And I expected a better quality of the carrying bag , it was very cheaply made. But like I said for the price I guess it’s good enough. Oh the delivery was fast. I guess that’s why I gave four stars.

The media could not be loaded.
Straight out of the box, the valves and slides needed half an afternoon of work to make them play. Expect to spend a lot of time cleaning, lubricating, and cleaning some more before these will even function. Perhaps they’ll break in with time. They’re certainly no great shakes now.
You’ll hear in the video that the intonation is all over the map. Part of that is probably my fault: My primary instrument is the trombone and this is after only a few weeks with the instrument. But I’m confident enough to say that part of it is probably the instrument’s fault, too. Expect to spend a lot of time staring at a tuner, chasing slides in and out, lipping up and lipping down, trying to figure out the instrument’s quirks.
The instrument ships from India and the seller’s return policy does not cover return postage. We can’t fault them for that. Just be absolutely certain you really want to keep the instrument before placing your order.
Lastly, and this is perhaps a the most vexing of all: The instrument does not have an adjustable leadpipe and appears to have been designed for people without necks. If I rest the instrument on my shoulder, the centerline of the mouthpiece comes in below my chin. In the video, you see me playing seated. My right foot is on a guitarist foot stool and I’m bearing the weight of the instrument on my right thigh. This is the only way I’ve found thus far to get the mouthpiece anywhere close to my face. Expect to need some sort of aftermarket harness or sling system.
For all that, it’s a fun instrument that is serving my needs which, one admits, aren’t much. I only need it for some temporary work next year and will probably resell it once that is past.

You just can’t imagine the experience of a 25 valve Sousa. Extraordinary. At first, I struggled with finding enough body parts to press the valves with. In a moment of inspiration, I hired 7 guys that were hanging out in front of the Mendini factory and they have become a well oiled team of professionals that work together to push EVERY LAST VALVE. We are being billed as the Voltron of tuba teams. Watch for our appearance this month on the road opening for the incredible tuba quartet Nine Inch Nails cover band, “Pretty Bass Machine” You won’t be disappointed.

I bought this tuba 2 yrs ago to learn .. this tuba is perfect to learn but the valves were too hard and the neck was uncomfortable you couldn’t move it
Therefore i took it to a tuba specialist to get the valves smoother and the neck modified to move which made it more comfortable i paid 750 for this its now 1300 back then it was worth it now its not you are better off buying a King brand tuba fiber glass for 1300.. to wrap it up if you are a true tuba person this is a tuba you just wont stay with forever because its not very comfortable i guess it was made to he played sitting down but there’s nothing like a King or a Conn
