This product is not for R12. For R134 it does as it should. But #1- R12 fittings are not 1/4″, they are 7/16-20. The R12 hoses will not thread into your R12 vehicles low side fitting. #2 – There is no pin to depress the shrader valve on the low side fitting so even if it did thread into it, it would not be able to actually open the system for service. #3 I spoke to their technical support line and they had seen a few of their R12 hoses go to market without actually having those pins and offered to replace them for free. Great, but back to problem #1. They are 1/4″ threads. The company does not offer 7/16-20 threaded hoses and are therefore useless for all 3 of the r12 vehicles I have attempted to use this on.
Stay away if you are looking for R12.

What an embarrassment to the Robinair name. This was not even as good as the Harbor Freight kit because the service couplings on the Harbor Freight kit are of better quality. The gages themselves are no-name generic gages. The aluminum block might be OK but the valves they give you are cheap plastic. The hoses seem acceptable. The couplings are similar to the basic $10.00 couplings that they sell on Amazon. Nothing seems to be actual real Robinair from the past. I sent it back. The Chinese Harbor Freight one will do just fine and I will have the option of getting the warranty.

Nice set of ac gauges. Hoses and valves are high quality and seal well. Having R-12 interfaces is very handy as well for me as I work an many vintage vehicles that still have the R-12 fittings in place.
