The fact that this music stand mounts directly to my mic stand is so incredibly handy. It is definitely not too heavy for my mic stand, and fits both the larger and thinner aspects of my stand. The size is just what I needed; slightly larger than regular 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I bought magnetic clips to hold my paperwork in case of wind, and when I’m switching sheet music, I just throw the magnets on the back until I need them again. I like that it can be flattened out, too, in case I needed a little table. Great purchase; I’m super happy with it. Strong metal + good quality.

Due to the mysterious way my guitars keep multiplying, space in my music room continues to grow scarce, so I was pleased to add this elegant solution into the mix. This review is for the MSA7011 (not the MST1000). This product is highly underrated as I don’t think most people realize what it is also capable of. You can remove the clamp and the clamp thread adapter and simply screw it directly to any microphone stand (see my attached pictures). Yes I could just clamp it to the mic stand, but for my current needs this works way better and is extremely stable. I can use it for my iPad or use it with paper, and it is much less obtrusive than a typical sized music stand. I can even tilt it so it is level and it will hold my laptop perfectly – although if kids are around this is a bit of a walk on the wild side.
I have a dedicate iPad holder/stand, but the MSA7011 is great for when I need to use an iPad one minute and paper the next.
(I almost didn’t buy it because some of the questions and answers for this product are for the MST1000 clamp on tray and not the MSA7011. They are two completely different products and shouldn’t linked together like Amazon has done.)

I modified it to use straight onto mic stand while not using the side bar. I took a microphone holder adapter and replaced the adapter it came with and mounted the tray straight on to a mic stand. More stable.I found it too top heavy on even heavy- based mic stands. Works better on tripod legged mic stands as it made.

I was nervous because of a few mixed reviews, but this is exactly what I was looking for.
It has rubber stops on the clamp to prevent damage to the mic stand and it also has a few adjustments which all seem to hold well once set.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I was lugging around a full music stand just to put my set list on. Holds 8×11” paper, could hold music sheet and pics and phone or small device. Metal, seems well made, attaches to mic stand, doesn’t scratch it. Great idea!

I have used this for 2.5 years and it is clamped to my mic stand in my studio and it’s much better than a stand that takes up more space. It can easily be moved up and down your stand, and by getting a magnet you can keep music sheets and lyrics on there, works great with smart phones, and tablets fit right on it!
