I installed this on my 2024 F150 a few weeks ago. Easy install. I mostly play playlists from an app but I’ve used FM and stream apps for podcasts and music since installing and reception hasn’t changed with this antenna. It looks much better than a factory antenna.
Amazon Customer –
This antenna not only looks great on my 2001 Silverado, but the reception is equal to the original antenna and is car wash safe.

As a ham radio operator, I know there was going to be gain loss (sound quality) on the receive side. I can definitely notice a difference. The longer antenna will win every time. However, the difference is minimal for antenna so short.
To hear the difference, with the stock antenna attached, turn the radio to about 4 clicks on the volume and listen. Then change the antenna. You will notice the volume is slightly lower and you will have the urge to turn up the volume.
But, at a volume of 9, you won’t notice much difference. Great antenna in my opinion. A very acceptable sound quality loss, for such a short antenna. Would buy again. And gift to friends.

My house is located between Denver and Colorado Springs, and radio reception here has always been hit or miss. The Denver stations generally come in clearer. Back in the days when I would listen to terrestrial radio, the best reception possible was really important. Now with Android Auto, I find myself listing to on-device music, Amazon Music stations or even XM, so signal strength is no longer my primary concern. Instead, I want to be able to pull into the garage without making a bunch of racket and have acceptable reception for the few times a year I might actually use it.
In the Ford F-150, there is a Radio Signal Strength meter in the hidden diagnostics menu, so it is easy to do a comparison. I went out to the truck and shot a “before” video while sitting in my driveway, spent 2 minutes switching out the antenna, then shot an “after” video. I have six presets on my truck and I picked three Denver and three Colorado Springs stations as presets. The video shows me walking thru the six presets before the install (stock antenna) and after the install, but if you don’t want to spend 2 minutes watching me wait for signal strengths to change, here are the results of the test:
Preset: Stock – Shorty
Denver1: 39 – 35
Denver2: 41 – 35
Denver3: 42 – 27
CoSpgs4: 27 – 16
CoSpgs5: 33 – 27
CoSpgs6: 23 – 13
There is a definite drop in signal strength as measured by the Ford diagnostic tool.
I did try listening to these stations, and I will say this… I can’t hear a difference. At least two of the Denver stations are HD, and it did seem to take longer for the radio to switch to HD mode, but once it locked in, it held. Granted, I haven’t driven the truck around much yet.
As for the install itself, it could not have been easier. The shorty antenna comes with the dual thread brass barrel and simply screws in by hand. As a side note, my stock antenna was a just barely hand tight, so I didn’t need the 3/8″ wrench to loosen it. The dual thread design should allow the antenna to remain tight on the vehicle.
I think it looks great, no complaints there!
Overall, I will take the hit to signal strength for the ability to pull into the garage without having the stock antenna drag across my garage door. For those rare instances where I do find myself listening to terrestrial radio, I am comfortable living with the fact that I may not pull in the clearest, strongest signal.

I have bought other small antennas and this one blows all them away. The signal is strong and my HD channels come in super clear. You will not waste any money on this one. 2016 dodge ram 1500 with infinity sound system

2017 F-150, went on super easy. Looks good, nice clean look. A great OE plus looking option, not tacky or goofy looking like some others.

Me encanta! Le da un mejor aspecto y funciona muy bien, lo coloque en un Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2022.

I have had this on my 2018 f150 for 5 years and have been loving it. It was so easy to install and looks so sleek. The quality is nice and durable. The clarity of reception is fine but there is not flexibility. It is a short metal type of material that does not bend. I take it through the car wash and have no issues. The only thing is sometimes (when I was my own truck) I check to make sure it’s securely tightened as it seems to come loose every now and again. I felt like it has been a great product of the money spent. I would recommend.

Works well.

Funciona perfectamente.

This looks way better than the standard factory antenna. Easy to install and still gets good reception.

Bought this to install on my 2001 Chevy Silverado to update the looks a bit. Easy to install and makes it look great. Works as good as the old long metal antenna. It’s been a couple of months so, not sure about longevity. Guess we’ll see how it holds up after the winter.
