I have tried a few different packaged food products for my hermit crab. He has eaten them but not with the consistency he eats Jurassic Diet. The food is gone every day and he seems happy, healthy, and content. This is the only food I buy for him.

I bought a hermit crab on vacay and they included a powder like food in the kit (no ingredient list which I thought was strange) For the first few days he picked at it and I just assumed he was still trying to acclimate to his new habitat and was too stressed to eat. I started researching other foods to incorporate into his diet (b/c who doesn’t want a healthy, happy pet). I tested some fruits and veggies and he definitely went for mostly everything I tried out. I came across this brand and read the ingredients and reviews and it seemed to be good. When I got it I immediately prepared his food dish with his fruits, veggies, and these pellets. When he came out for his feast he ran over his fruits and veggies to get to these pellets!!! I think he stayed in his dish for an hour afterwards!! I think the pellets make it easier for him to consume but he can’t talk so I’ll never know. I definitely recommend these!! *Side note- Keep away from cats! Whatever is in this stuff smells so good and tastes even better to my furr babies. It’s a fight everytime I open the container to feed my crab.

This product is great. My three hermits crabs love it and will often emerge from their slumber just from the scent of it. I mix it with dried veggies and fruit. This is the only stuff that disappears immediately. Supposedly it’s soy free which is good for the crabs. My crabs have survived for over three years with this as their primary diet. Highly recommend for a healthy crabitat. Make sure to have proper humidity and heat along with four inches of sand substrate or the food won’t matter because you’ll be feeding skeletons. Don’t forget the salt water soaking dish and of course fresh water!

I could not find hermit crab food anywhere in the stores and thank goodness for Amazon backup! I found this food with good reviews. So glad that I took a leap of faith and purchased this product because my hermit crab loves it!!! I used to buy the crab cakes which are bigger. This food is smaller and perfect for the hermit. He eats it up right away! I am officially buying this product from now on! Please keep it in stock. The price is right and my hermit crab is all smiles. 🙂

Turns out, it’s got preservatives inside it. I was so sad. Now I look up ways to make their foods with all organic healthy additives.
