Poncho –

This Shark is a dream! It vacuums well in flooring and carpet, has great, consistent suction, is easy to maneuver, and even my kids love using it! Vacuum holds a charge for a long time – I can get my whole house vacuumed and still have a charge. Easily converted to the dust buster to clean my car too!
Picks up all the “chunks” off the floor. Highly recommend!
Muy buen producto –
I like that the dust tray empties so easy and the vacuum can stand in a locked position which is a great feature. it come with a handy brush tool that rotates to do under furniture that is close to the floor. I haven’t had it too long but really like it so far.

I finally gave up on my Hoover stick vacuum. It kept falling apart and was just driving me crazy. In the garbage tonight. I am thrilled with this Shark! Snap and go! Well designed.

I’m not totally on board with this machine, but I’m also cheap and already have multiple other cleaning machines (Bisell carpet cleaner, Dyson corded vacuum, steam cleaner, corded hand held Dirt Devil, shop vac), so this machine fills a niche for cordless convenience in our house. Still, not sure that I’m totally sold on this. If you’re really looking a deep cleaner for a fully carpeted single home over 1700 sq ft and this is going to be your ONLY vacuum, I suggest going with a more expensive cordless vacuum or one with interchangeable battery pack. My aunt has the more expensive model with the bendable wand and it is a lot more powerful (and louder). She also has three spare batteries for it. If you’re just looking for a surface clean and some dusting, this does the job nicely. If you live in a 900 sq ft apartment, this will be probably be awesome if you have floor/closet space to store it. If you want the convenience of a wall mounted unit that charges on it’s mount, this is NOT it.
We live in a two story townhome just under 1800sq ft. Off the bat, I wished there was more suction power. It was almost anticlimactic when I turned it on for the first time bc it was SO quiet! Second, I wish the battery lasted longer or it could be detached and switched out for a backup battery. The battery is built into the motor/ canister house and relies on a cord plugged into it to charge. I knew it was 40 minutes of battery life going in; I underestimated how much I could actually clean in 40 minutes. I’d definitely have to break up my cleaning into sessions if this is what I am relying on to clean a whole house, top down (including furniture surfaces). Third, it would’ve been nice for them to design a way for the two accessories to attach off the wand or floor nozzle so that it’s always at hand and doesn’t get misplaced. Fourth: some option to mount this on the wall, even if it has to be purchased separately, would be helpful.
The pluses: It’s quiet. Low price point, especially at 50% off. Light enough my kids to use with ease. There is a light on the floor nozzle. It’s great for some quick vacuuming around the dining table since my kids eat like Cookie Monster and vacuuming is a must after every meal; great on stairs and crevices that my corded Dyson was unwieldy and troublesome with. It’ll be convenient for cars, which means our car will be cleaner more often. Also, note it only takes but a few seconds to separate the top and hang it off the wand. I don’t see it as a big deal to spare a few seconds to press a button for separation. It takes me longer to rewrap the cord back around my Dyson. The vacuum absolutely has the ability to stand upright on its own if the motor/canister is hung from the wand.
Update 1/25/24: Been a few months. Loving it so far. Definitely vacuum a lot more often bc of how light and easy it is to use. Definitely wish it had more suction power, and affirms the idea if you are wanting a cordless as your sole vacuum cleaner, definitely invest in a pricier model. Also, wanted to add something as I was finally confident enough to recycle the packaging the vacuum came in: I have to point out the packaging is quite impressive as it is entirely paper based, which is such a welcome relief given the amount of plastics I get just from ordering a take out meal. Zero styrofoam and plastics in this packaging. Completely flattens down except for the two compressed paper fiber structures. Bravo to their packaging engineer.
Update 5/17/24
Still finding it uber convenient to use, but it’s no good for the car! It’s ok on the upholstery if it’s like fresh crumbs sitting lightly on the surface. But it does not have the power to pull off things like fine dirt, sand or crushed leaves imbedded into the wiry carpet fibers of the car or crumbs wedged into seat crevices and carseats. I find my shop vac a lot more efficient for the car.

This vacuum was my one and only prime day splurge last year and I have not regretted it even once. I researched different stick vacs and decided this model seemed like the best value for what I needed (vs. dyson and other brands).
Overall summary: extremely easy to use, charge, and clean the vacuum itself. Very effective and functional, would absolutely buy again even if it died tomorrow after only one year of owning but it seems to be working about 98% as well as it was right out of the box. I specifically waited a year to write this because many reviews I read when comparing cordless vacuums prior to purchase mentioned problems after about 6 months of use. I’ve had none.
The rest of the review is long but I know if I would have appreciated reading this input when shopping around.
Battery life: I timed the use when I first got it and ran it for ~40 minutes switching between hard floor and carpet settings and it did not run out. I think it’s only died on me once or twice in the entire time I’ve had it, and that’s when I was vacuuming the entire ~3000 sq ft house in one go. Since I usually stick to just upstairs or just downstairs at a time, battery isn’t an issue for me even on the high power setting.
Suction/dust cup capacity: the suction is only ever affected when the dust collector cup is seriously full, and since we had two cats and one dog and were catching up on a long time of neglecting vacuuming, this was pretty often at first. Since then we’ve gotten through one or two full battery charges worth of cleaning without having to empty, which means the suction has been great. We use crystal cat litter that sometimes gets statically stuck to our cat’s fur and he will shake it off on the carpeted floor. This vacuum has been great at getting the litter (and fur of course) out of the carpet. Not to mention actually emptying the dust cup is super easy too.
Hand vac/crevice tool: switching attachments is also very easy. I had a super cheap hand vac I used to use for crevices and cleaning my car, but no more. This is great for getting in between couch cushions, car seats, cup holders, floorboards, etc.
Brush roll: I have long hair and I shed a lot more than the average person. One of the biggest deciding factors between brands for me was the ability to get my hair out of the brush roll and I definitely made the right choice on this one. Even when my hair is clogging the brush roll, it has never once actually stopped it from rolling and has barely changed the effectiveness at all. When I do clean it out – it’s SO easy thanks to the grooves on the roll and the bristle design. Even on other vacuums that are supposedly designed to easily clean the brush roll, it has never been this easy before.
Down side: The only suggestion for improvement I have is that the tiny wheels on the front of the vacuum head were tangled with fur/dust/hair after the second or third use. Unlike the brush roll, it seems impossible to fix this. On the other hand, even though I’m not sure those wheels even roll anymore, it hasn’t actually seemed to have any effect on the vacuum’s functionality which is why I’m still giving five stars.
If you are on the fence about getting a stick vac in general:
I cannot recommend it enough and it is absolutely worth making the switch. My partner and I both have depression and ADHD which makes it very hard for us to find the motivation to clean. Since getting this vacuum I am not kidding, I have vacuumed more in the past year than I have the rest of my adult life (I’m 32! Yes, this is embarrassing!). We keep this near the kitchen within easy reach and eye sight, and it’s small enough not to be in the way. We also have carpeted stairs which were the worst to have to deal with – both mentally and literally – and now I vacuum them regularly just because it’s so easy. We have had multiple full size/traditional “pet” specific vacuums before and this specific model has equal or better suction power and is so much more convenient than all of them. And it fits under the couch!

I am absolutely thrilled with the Shark IX141 Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum! It’s incredibly quiet, which is perfect for my apartment living, and so easy to clean after use. The vacuum is super lightweight, making it effortless to carry around, and the XL dust cup means I don’t have to stop mid-clean to empty it. It charges quickly and holds the charge well — I can clean my entire 750 sqft apartment, both carpet and wood flooring, on a single charge. The LED headlights are a game-changer for spotting dust and pet hair in darker areas. The seller is also very responsive to questions and on top of their customer service.
