It is a very good lens for the price and the images so far are better then my 70-300mm Canon lens. The extra focal length definitely comes in handy as well. Like that it comes with a case, cause you’ll need it for the lens size. Only downfall is it is quite heavy and your arm may get tired holding it up after a while.

I will start off by saying I only review items that I have gotten to use. I don’t review anything right after I took it out of the Box to say oh well this is amazing.. With that being said after using this lens for a couple of weeks I can honestly say it’s freaking incredible! With that being said this was my 1st serious lens purchase. Before this all I’ve been treating with have been kit lenses. I have this on a rebel T5I right now however I do plan to upgrade. The auto focus is sticky and tracks amazing.. Image civilization is Phenomenal. One problem I did have with it is it is when I had this attached to a shoulder sling when I walked the camera got switched and it’s auto focus length from 10 Meters to infinity down to 2 m to 10 m. For 2 days I could not get any sports photos that we’re coming out clear and was thinking I would have to send this back to Sigma. However the one day it just dawned on me to check that setting and I found that it had gotten switched perand switched. After doing something about it that’s what I had realized what it that while I was walking with the camera at my side it probably just got bumped. After switching it back to The infinity setting the the lens works perfectly. Images are extremely sharp and crisp. The background Boca is amazing even at F 6.3. This lens is a terrific investment. I really wanted to get the sport model however the extra $500 was kind of hard to justify especially on my budget however the contemporary lens truly is an incredible lens. If you’re looking for or a good sportsman or a lens to take photos of the moon or anything like that I would not not hesitate to get this once again

I’m totally amazed with the way this lens shoots, both with the matched Sigma 1.4 Teleconverter and without… The highly rated 1.4 Teleconverter is also worth every penny, and takes ‘No’ sharpness away, I also believe only adds to it. Auto focus worked perfect also with the TC and is so fast.

I’m using this wonderful lens mounted on my new beloved Nikon Z6 Mk2 full frame Mirrorless camera for both wildlife and astrophotography, including quite a bit of deep-sky work… The lens and camera are mounted on a gimbal equipped heavy-duty tripod I used in my Photography business for 14 years.

After reading everything I could on this Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens, I also read so many who compared the sharpness of this C lens very close, and even equal in several cases to the 1lb heavier Sport lens which also costs $1k more… The S lens is probably a tiny bit sharper with it’s extra glass group but for a grand more and a pound heavier this Lens has totally amazed me.

I’ve intended for 2 years to finally purchase a high-quality Telescope and GoTo Equatorial tracking mount but simply haven’t been able to chose which type, so this Samsung 150\210mm to 600\850mm (with 1.4 Teleconverter) lens has been perfect for the interim.

Zooms traditionally being a bit soft wide open, as well as at the full zoom position are well known compared to Prime lenses and individual lenses each have their own personality for sweet spots… With this in mind I truly believe I’ve purchased a very fine piece… I can only pray they are all coming out of manufacturing with this great quality.

As many have attested my lens is a tiny bit soft at 150mm yet still very acceptable, but from there out to 600\850mm its razor sharp… I’ve found f9 to be it’s sweet spot, but f11 out to f40 are almost just as sharp, it’s very close all the way including out to 850mm.

One of the images I’ll add shows two bucks measured on Google Earth at 3\4 mile and was shot at 850mm with the matching 1.4 Sigma Teleconverter.. The heat distortion was huge considering it was shot off my car hood last week at our record 16°.  The image is a bit fuzzy but considering it was shot hand held off my car hood at 3\4 mile with so much heat distortion and 850mm I was impressed.  I’ll add a couple others as well.

This lens is an amazing accomplishment for Sigma and is well worth every penny.

I bought this for my Nikon D850. Love the combo. Autofocus is fast and precise. Motor is quiet. Optics are sharp and pleasing to my eyes. Colours are rich. A little heavy but that’s to be expected for beast like this.

Invested in this lens in advance of a safari to Africa, and so happy I did. The image quality is fantastic! Easy to use. Image stabilization works very well. I did use it with a monopod to help with the weight and stabilization, especially at full zoom, and it worked like a charm. It is quite heavy at about 5 lbs and I had to carry it separately for that reason, but so worth it. Great quality, even in low light. Works very well with my Nikon D7100 camera.

There is always something to whish for, but for the money it is a great lens. Fast and sharp focus. Works perfect with my Canon 90D. Also with the 80D, so I expect it will work with every DSLR form Canon. It has some weight, but with the correct strap the combination body & lens is easy to carry and als easy to handle. I use the SunSniper Pro strap with a modified system to attach the body or lens to it. But the original system is just as good to carry it. My solution is only easier to switch between lenses: I carry this lens on it’s own attachement, but the smaller lenses through the attachment on the body. So switching to and from this lens means also switching of the carrying point. Carrying this lens on it’s own attachment point givis the combination a perfect balance.
So, i spite of the weight I am very satisfied with this lens for which I also replaced my camera bag. The lenses’ bag is not very handy. Don’t throw it away, because it is handy when a frend wants to borrow yoyr lens and also in the unexpected case you want to sell it (or for replacement by Sigma’s 60-600) this bag is handy to have. I am satisfied with this value for this money.
