ORGANIZATIONAL FREAK –
I wasn’t sure the kitties would like the slant aspect, but they love sisal, and seem to use the stand without any issues. We have two now, and every other month I cut the shredded fibers back down to the same height as I scratched portion. Elegant looking for living rooms, etc.

This cat scratching pad is sturdy and very appealing to my cat. She no longer claws the furniture but prefers this scratch pad instead.

I was looking for a stronger scratcher than the cardboard ones I keep buying and know my cats like the vertical sisal one we have, but it was too big for where I needed something to go. This looked like a decent bet as my cats have enjoyed angled cardboard scratchers before. Unfortunately, they aren’t as interested in it as I was hoping, since the goal was to replace some flat cardboard scratchers currently protecting a rug that they scratch so much there’s a spattering of cardboard nearby.
I think the main issue is really the size. This thing was a lot smaller than I imagined. About 2/3 the width of a regular carboard scratcer, then the sisal covered area is even smaller than that. My cats do use it when encouraged to, and occasionally if I put it along paths they walk often, but it’s definitely not a hit, and not really serving the purpose I intended. Numerous times I have to stop them from scratching the rug around, under, or even while half on this scratcher. So despite loving the vertical sisal scratcher elsewhere in the house, I think the size and angle of this just don’t entice my kitties. I have a larger flat sisal rug on the way that will hopefully be more appealing.

5.26.23~ This thing has been sitting in my cart forever.
Her birthday was coming up so thought “Why not?”
Knew it was short (18″) but when she likes something, she finds a way to use it.
Well she likes it. She likes it like Birds like French Fries.
She likes it so much she started hugging it like prey & thumping with her paws.
Maybe it was the ramp, maybe the included Smarty Kat-nip, which she loves.
The part that really isn’t clearly shown in the bend at the ramp.
It’s almost 9″ and high enough to support the weight of an 8 lb cat.
Whether she was standing on it to scratch or stretching body on the carpet, it worked.
Her fave part is the Fabric Trim.
This cat is obsessed with scratching her face. Like eats the brush obsessed.
She instantly started rubbing her face on it with a look of heaven.
The sisal is done well. The weight is good. I mean… it’s 15 bucks? What did we expect?
Whatever I expected at this price point has been exceeded by the only one who matters.
She’s making me wish I ordered for her last birthday. Also picking up another for the kitten.
Searched for Smarty Kat bc she loves everything from them.
My outdoor cats are even fans of their Katnip.
I will never doubt you again Smarty Kat. You may be Made in China but you Know Cats.

Very very small…I was really hoping for this to be likeable… I’m gonna keep it for a few days and see what happens..really not expecting anything….I needed a bigger one….just too small. Maybe a kitten can use it

I had first bought this 3 years ago. My cat, Suma, loves it!! I am amazed that it’s lasted so long as he uses it every day to some degree. As you can see from the pictures I’ve posted though.. the new one is not the same quality as the old one!!

It came shipped in this box, with some of the brown paper over top of it. The box proved to be a big hit for Suma. I did notice one hitch though upon examining it when i removed it from the box, in the one photo you’ll see the underside of the new one has some strange lose bump of fabric. That bothers me slightly since this is supposed to be new, but i can overlook it.
The new one is loaded with visible STAPLES!!! You can see them all along the sides and back! I do NOT like this one bit!! The old one had no visible staples.. This concerns me. I’m worried he might snag his claw on a staple, or one might come lose and he’ll get it stuck in his little paw, or possibly ingest it.
The Sisal is darker on the new one, and i’ve noticed it’s not as tightly woven as the old one is. So i have concerns as to how long it’ll last and hold up.
The carpet on the new one is lighter, and also not as thick. You can see it shine a little bit in the one picture as the flash captures some of the bare material where the carpet material is thin and doesn’t completely cover. I tried to get a decent picture to show this.
Now that being said.. Suma really likes it. I placed both the old and new next to each other and he kept going to the new one. He is very happy to have a new one! He would much rather use the new one than the old one now. I am unhappy with it though, the older one in my opinion looked nicer and was better quality… but Suma gets what Suma wants, and he wants the new one! So even though i am unhappy with it, i still recommend it for your cats since they will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Fingers crossed it lasts as long as the old one did… and i KNOW i’ll be checking those staples twice a day to make sure everything is safe for him.

El producto es bonito, resistente, aunque la pluma que trae colgando se rompió un poco a los minutos de que mi gatita jugara con ella. Eso sÃ, no se ha despegado a pesar de que la jala mucho y con fuerza. El material se ve resistente y elegante sobre todo. Es un poco pequeño para un gato adulto ya que mi gata tiene menos de 5 meses y ya casi no cabe por la parte de abajo. No lo usa casi como rascador, pero le gusta acostarse en la curvita a descansar.
