At the top, they seem to be priced fairly for the quality, so probably best to know you are getting what you are paying for. Which is to say you’re saving some dough, but buying some headaches.
It has been a while since I have played, but saw these asking for a review so picked them up and gave them a blow. They come well packaged and as pictured. While they all make sound, the quality seems mediocre for a variety of reasons, here are the specifics I noticed:
– The cork is okay, but of inconsistent diameter and centering.
– The thread is neatly, tight and well wrapped and tied
– They were all wire and gut? wrapped (again it’s been a while since i’ve made reeds, can’t remember all the terminology)
– If i had to guess, I’d say they were all machine scraped given the price and uniform shaping
– Of the three, out of the box only one came close to sealing when suction was applied
– All crowed but were wildly different from each other in tone and color
– All leaked when played, although one was much worse than the other two
– All played.
I guess as a starting point, these would be okay if you or your instructor doesn’t mind tuning them up and working through the issues, but given they’ve already been wire tied and wrapped with film, I’d really expect them not to leak, as those were always my last resort for fixing marginal reeds.

These three oboe reeds come in individual plastic tubes with a cap, and are enclosed in a neat black, plastic locking outer case. The reeds are made with a blend of European short scrape and American long scrape features (they have an American style tip but the heart and back have been unified in more of a European style). To more easily adjust the opening, they are wrapped with wire and to prevent leaks there is a plastic sheeting covering the center. Most importantly, the reeds have a big, robust opening that makes it close to impossible to make a sound or vibrate the reeds. Even with prolonged soaking and using pliers to squeeze the wire, I can barely get any sound out. For parents/starting oboists hoping to find cheap, responsive reeds, they may be better off looking elsewhere. While I respect the price point and attempt to provide an affordable reed, the opening of the reed and thickness of the cane at the tip would make the reeds all but unplayable for most anyone, even a seasoned professional. If the student has a good reed knife and scraping skills, they could get them to vibrate and start to play. But, with the unique scrape and wire, these reeds would be out of the realm of normality for most young American oboists.

We got a Taepyeongso which is like a double reeded recorder in design. It’s traditional Korean horn that my wife was dying to learn to play. Unfortunately the tiny double reed that came with this horn just wouldn’t make a sound no matter what we tried. It dawned on me that a larger oboe reed may work better because of their size. Turns out that I was right.
These reeds are way easier to soak and get an instrumental sound out of compared to what we were using. I understand that this is an off-brand use of these reeds but they still work. The instrument is nested inside the cork as oppose to the outside but so far they have worked out great. Is that helpful for oboe players? Maybe.
So far the quality has been good on the reeds we got. They are exceptionally well packaged and protected. I can’t say I’ve ever seen any reed for any instrument get delivered in their very own hard case. We haven’t had any issues with these so far and are very happy with the end results. 5 stars.
