Well, I should’ve paid waaay more attention to the innocuous sounding “Do not touch the outside of the kettle after heating.” What it SHOULD have said was “Every millimeter of this pot will get boiling hot to the touch… except for the handle… which if you have hand or arm issues you will not be able to use this pot without risking a second degree burn!”
I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and not only did I almost drop the thing full of boiling water, I scalded my supporting hand when I picked it up to pour my first cup. I was at least able to support my LAST electric kettle (sadly no longer in production) from the HEAT PROOFED bottom but you can’t even do that with this one! There is NOTHING HEAT PROOF except the wooden handle…which you cannot easily use with two hands.
I didn’t buy an electric kettle so that I had to use an oven mitt to pour out some hot water for tea. I bought it to SAFELY and quickly heat the water. This was stupidity in design at it’s finest and I was even more stupid not to see the glaring absence of safety reassurances in the description. I am returning it and calling it dangerous for anyone with upper mobility issues

I love it. I like The chic minimal design, the color and how fast it boils and the Temperature measure I do not like the way you need to open to put your water in it. It’s kind of cheap. That’s the reason I will give it before five.

I bought this for my inlaws, we have one that’s exactly the same just different, it looks great in the kitchen, double insulated and a polished finish on the exterior that’s almost impossible to get dirt on. So far they enjoyed the product and use it couple times a day.

We have had many electric kettles over the years, and they all eventually stop working–some within a relatively short time (less than a year.) Through my many purchases, I have learned what features are important to me, and this kettle has them all: top opening large enough to get my hands in to clean, not glass, which shows water marks from mineral residue, but has some kind of window that allows you to see the water level, not too many fancy features (i.e. keep warm–which never works, or colored lights which break quickly, etc.), and a temp gauge so you know how close it is to boiling. This pot has it all. And as a bonus, I like the color (I got the cream/beige) and I think it’s stylish. Can’t speak to its longevity, but if it lasts at least a year, I’ll likely go back for another one.
