SURETIVIAN Large Chicken Shredder With Lid

I had 3 lbs of chicken that I cooked and shredded. I use it for various meals during the week since I’m so busy with work. I had been shredding the chicken with 2 forks and it took forever! With this it took 10 minutes tops! Never going back to using forks. Also, I got the one with the plate for ease of getting the shredded chicken out. I don’t have the other one to compare to but I love the ease of use and it’s incredibly easy to clean.

I have never had a chicken shredder before. I’d seen them but just never got one. Recently I chose 3 different chicken shredders to compare them. They are all essentially the same with minor differences. For this review, I’m reviewing the red one.

This shredder comes boxed and you’ll need to pop in the handles. They pop right in easily. Be aware. Once you pop in the handles, they do not pop out again. I tried to remove the handles to store this shredder and they don’t come out.

Chicken shredders come with or without the separate plate inside. I recommend the shredders with the plate inside because it makes emptying your chicken so much easier. The three shredders I chose all have the separate plate. This shredder comes with a cleaning brush to remove the last shreds of chicken before putting in the dishwasher.

This shredder has 4 strips of foam attached to the bottom to prevent it from sliding on your counter. I tried this shredder and yes, the foam strips do prevent it from slipping on the counter. One of the shredders I received has a separate silicone pad to put on the counter, then you put the shredder on the pad.

The red shredder does seem to be a bit heavier plastic than one of the other black shredders.
I like that the top is see through so I can see when my chicken is shredded and I won’t over shred.

One drawback that all of these shredders have is you do need to align the inside plate correctly over the prongs in order for the plate to fit. This might require turning the plate around until it settles into the right spot over the prongs. It would be so much easier is there was a color line on both the inside plate and the shredder. Then I’d just have to align the two color lines and it would fit immediately.

Another note on this shredder. It makes a loud squeak as you’re turning the handles to shred the meat. Two of my three shredders squeak this way. Only one does not squeak. This isn’t a deal breaker for me as long as it works correctly. It’s just a little annoying.

All said, this is a pretty neat tool to have in your kitchen. It can be used with chicken, pulled pork or even beef. If you make your own pet food, you can even shred cooked vegetables in the shredder.

Overall, we are very impressed with the Chicken Shredder. It’s incredibly easy to use, and the fact that it’s dishwasher safe makes cleanup a breeze. It even comes with a handy little brush for those times when you prefer handwashing, which is a thoughtful touch.

One of our favorite features is the strong anti-slip base, which significantly improves stability and makes the shredding process much smoother. Additionally, the option to choose from several colors adds a fun touch to the kitchen.

The only reason I’m not giving it a full 5 stars is that I wish the container were a bit deeper. While it works well for most tasks, a slightly deeper design would make it even more versatile and accommodating for larger quantities. Despite this minor drawback, it’s a solid and useful kitchen tool that we’ve been very happy with.
