mein Leguan frisst (zum Glück) nahezu jedes Trockenfutter, doch bei diesem lässt er die Frisch-Futterschüssel unangetastet!
Mein Leguan liebt das Zeug so sehr, dass ich ihm immer nur kleinere Mengen ins frische Obst mischen, weil er sonst nichts anderes fressen würde! Seit 20 Jahre füttere ich dieses Trockenfutter meistens meinen Leguan zu, scheinbar bekommt ihm das gut!
früher habe ich 2,5 kg Dosen in der Tierhandlung gekauft, scheinbar bekommt man diese nicht mehr.
Die Preise schwanken auch immer recht stark.
Ich hätte vor 20 Jahren Aktien von Zoo Med kaufen sollen….:)

I was hoping that the iguana would really like this but she didn’t respond to it well. maybe there is something else wrong with her, but she didn’t eat this at all.

I got my iguana as a juvenile in the Spring of 1992, just before I graduated college in 1993. Here it is, 2015, and Iggy is still alive and feisty as ever, after a lifetime of this diet. I’ve supplemented with dandelion greens, and other fruits and veggies as treats, but this diet has been her mainstay for 23 years. Just read the ingredients! I also have had chuckawallas on this diet: one lived for over 25 years, and the other is turning 20 this year. I’ve been good about providing UVB lighting, of course, as well.

This, and all commercial iguana diets, are improper to be fed as a replacement for properly prepared vegetables (collards, mustards, dandelions, peas, beans, etc). This and other commercial diets are good supplements for occasional or possibly daily use as not more than half your iguana’s food. My iguana loves to eat this stuff on an occasional basis, and it (and especially the color fruit derived variety) makes great treats.
Bottom line is that this is good stuff for your iguana, but not as a sole diet as the advertising would like you to believe.
Always make sure to moisten this food, as iguanas derive much of their water from their food sources. Feeding dry food can quickly dehydrate your lizard. Be sure to change daily to prevent disease and mold!

I think my lizard is just spoiled or something. He used to eat alfalfa pellets when that was the only kind of ig food one could get, but now he’s getting picky and refusing to eat it. Will continue trying. Maybe I’ll mush it into a banana and see if that works.
