I am a trombone/ Euphonium player and this device has allowed me to practice efficiently buzzing with the “feel” and resistance of the actual instrument. Buzzing is an essential element of brass playing and the sooner you can develop a strong and centered buzz the better the tone will be. This device is meant to help that; the BERP is also very useful in the marching world i.e. marching band and drum corps.

Great warm up device for all brass instruments. If your chops need a little prep work, this is the best device I’ve seen. It does make a little sound – not totally silent. However it’s no louder then a regular buzz. It focuses the sound and lets fingerings/slide positions be practiced at the same time, which is why it’s better then just buzzing alone.

Needed to be modified so it could fit my large bore Bass Trombone (.562″) with interchangeable lead pipe. Once the inside had been filed out, I was able to get it to fit. Will it work like this? Yes, but not ideal.
All that aside – great concept and will definitely help improve sound, breath control, intonation, and articulation.
