Works well. Lights are bright, like that the 1st power level is quiet. The 2nd power level has some sort of resonant ringing/whistling noise which is bothersome but it doesn’t exist on the 3rd power level which I use most of the time for the smelly stuff and has good power.

The stainless finish could be a bit higher quality, seems to smudge easily for some reason and doesn’t polish nicely as other SS appliances I have.

Don’t be like me and try to remove/install the bulbs by hand – there is a suction tool included.

Overall slightly more power than average and slightly quieter than average. Good value before you get into the pricier $500+ models.

Really like this fan! It is so quiet and looks very sleek and stylish. The suction is very good especially for a gas stove. It took practically no time to install. Highly recommend this fan!

I purchased this to use as a ventless range hood. You will need to purchase carbon filters separately to use it as such. Iโ€™ve never installed a rand hood before and had no issue installing it in about 30 minutes. I purchased an electrical lead so I could use a wall plug to power the unit. The instruction also had good detail on how to install that cord. The unit is well made, the built in lights are bright and are great for a night light in the kitchen. The fan is strong but pretty loud. Setting one is fine, hardly a sound. Setting two makes itself known and setting 3 is LOUD. I usually only use setting three when I am cooking onion, garlic or other food with a strong odor. Setting 2 is just right for smoky oils, I really only use the first speed setting for circulating and filtering the air after cooking. It would have been nice if the unit came with a mounting kit, or at least a template for drilling the mounting holes. However, itโ€™s not that heavy so someone could hold it in place when you dill the mounting holes. Overall, I am very happy with the unit, just wish there was a way to make it quieter.

It had a number of ways to install the venting. Good filtration. Fan runs fairly quiet on slower speeds. LED lights are good and bright.

We installed this yesterday – to replace a 25 year old kitchen exhaust fan that was also made by Broan. This fan is quite attractive in comparison – the front, top and sides are made of brushed aluminum suitable for viewing. The back needs to be mounted on a kitchen wall – not suitable for viewing. We mounted it with horizontal exhaust; this is difficult to find in products right now. The new fan has lower mass and is about 30% smaller depth. Measurements provided by manufacturer are accurate; this fan slotted perfectly under a cupboard exactly 30 inches wide.

4 stars because the metal filters are very delicate – but you can place them in the dishwasher to clean off the gunk and then very carefully return the wires back into the frame. Tedious and annoying – it was the same procedure on the old fan we replaced. Canโ€™t comment on the charcoal filters since weโ€™re not using them.

You will need to purchase separately medium size marrettes for joining wire ends and whatever venting materials you plan to use – either a vent pipe and cap for vertical venting through the roof or a horizontal exterior flap system. The horizontal flap that comes with the fan is quite flimsy and will allow mice or small red squirrels access into your kitchen. That said, we just reused the old horizontal vent fap system we had in place.

Installation is easier with 2 people; one holds up the fan, and the other feeds the wires through to the inside. If youโ€™re strong, you could do this alone by pre-mounting the 4 screws – provided with the fan – lift up the fan and feed wires through, then slide and slot into place. Tighten the screws afterwards.

Totally worth the money! The fan works very well and is reasonable quiet in use. The LED lights are bright and illuminate the work surface of the stove nicely. Iโ€™d recommend this product to a friend for home use.

Installed easily. Works perfectly. The lights cover my entire stovetop and light up half my kitchen at night. For the price, it’s a winner. In my opinion, it was well worth spending extra over cheaper models to get the bigger fan and full-coverage grease traps.

I had to order a power cord separately. It wired up very easily. In all, I think it took me about ten minutes to wire up the power cord and pop out the proper cutout for my stove vent. The fan is so quiet that I can’t hear it on the lowest two settings. On highest speed, it pulls in almost all the smoke and steam from my stove and oven.

The unit is made of thin metal and feels flimsy. The grease traps feel flimsy, too. When the fan’s running on high, the grease traps actually bend in toward the fan. However, in use, it’s worked fine.

The first unit I received was beat up so badly there was no way to salvage it. The fan was even crooked because of the damage. The second unit had a small ding, but once I installed it, the ding is less noticeable than the factory welds. Both units shipped with a round vent collar screwed to the top and if the box gets banged up in shipping, it’s going to cave in the top of the hood. Very poor packaging choice on the manufacturer’s end.

The hood comes with four wood screws to install it. I made templates with magic marker and paper and taped them up over the stove. I used a hole saw to make an opening for the power cord, ran the screws halfway into the cabinet, and then slid the hood on. One of the screws had to be removed and re-set because I missed the template by an 1/8 inch or so. Otherwise, all I had to do was snug up the screws and putting on the grease traps.

My old microwave’s exhaust fan was rated at 400 CFM (when it worked) and I wanted similar performance from a hood. This hood pulls far more steam and smoke out of the room than my microwave ever did. I did keep the soft-close vent flap from my microwave instead of using the vent flap that comes with this unit. The soft close works perfectly. The fan has a slow start.

All-in-all, I’m very happy. It’s not perfect, and it really doesn’t match anything else in my kitchen, but it looks very nice and the functionality is exactly what I needed at a price I can live with.

I am very happy with this hood. It looks good installed; provide good lighting for my stove; and the noise level is reasonable. My installation is not ducted outside (I wish it was), but his hood does a decent job of managing the cooking orders. And it’s significantly better than my previous hood. I did add carbon filters, which I believe is really helping mitigate the orders. The installation was not hard. I did need an extra set of hands while I got the screws started, but beyond this the installation was straightforward. I think the hood looks very nice and really compliments my updated kitchen.

I am in the process of replacing kitchen appliances and have been researching appliances for about 6 months. I purchased this stainless steel hood at the new lower price, and it is well worth it. Installed it by myself (difficult but doable) yesterday. Fastened it directly to the cabinet bottom, no shims, just used somewhat longer screws to bridge the distance caused by the recessed cabinet bottom. I like the fact that it is not too heavy for me to install alone, probably due to the thinner stainless steel shell material. It looks great. LED lights are super bright and so white compared to the 25 year old hood I removed. The fan is very quiet, and when I turned it on the first time, on low setting, I could not hear it and thought it might not be working, but it works, just very quiet, probably due to the large fan blades that turn relatively slowly compared to the noisy small fan in the unit I replaced. The manufacturing quality control at the factory I judge to be good, as the dimensions of my unit are spot-on re the published data on Amazon, with no sharp edges, which was a big relief. It arrived well packaged, excellent condition, on time. I would buy this unit again.
