I just received the Cuisinart CJE-1000 juicer about two days ago but had to go out and buy some fresh veggies to juice before I could try it out. Today, I’m happy to say that it works like a dream … not like the refurbished (same brand and model) one I received last week from another store. On that one, #5 on the speed dial didn’t work, the pulp ended up backing up and not going into the pulp bin, and the motor made a funny noise when turning off; on further inspection, some of the parts looked a little beat up, too. Still, it was pretty quiet when juicing, but I knew I had to return it.
So, I immediately went online and bought a brand new Cuisinart from Amazon (what I should have done in the first place). lol I’m so glad I moved as quickly as I did. It didn’t take me too long to finally realized that I didn’t need to start off with refurbished … what was someone elses juicing nightmare/headache and end up going down hill from there and having to return the juicer multiple times for repair (and be without fresh juice). The only good thing I got out of buying the refurbished juicer for less money was that it showed me what a great juicer the Cuisinart could be (if everything worked correctly, that is) … was totally sold on the potential! The multiple speeds, large juice pitcher, and extremely quiet motor (except when turning off) helped to sway me.
This new Cuisinart is very quiet, too (unheard of, I know), and the pulp is pretty dry when not juicing something like tomatoes (just had to try that), but I can use my NutriBullet for things like that and not end up losing part of them to pulp. As the Nutribullet is also very powerful and liquifies quite well (except for things like beets and carrots, etc), I’ll probably, sometimes, end up liquifying things like tomatoes, kale, spinach, and softer fruits in the Nutribullet so I can get the benefit of the whole veggie/fruit. At any rate, I love being able to change the speed on the Cuisinart to fit what I’m juicing.
Cleanup is fairly easy with the Cuinsinart, too. I’ve seen much worse, in particular the old Hamilton Beach juicer I used to have (talk about a nightmare!). It juiced great, but cleanup was very time consuming and difficult.
Also, I love size of the Cuisinart juice pitcher and the 3″ feed tube but find that for small, hard beets it’s still better to cut them in thirds or quarters, but I can feed 3-5 carrots at a time without a problem. I also juiced half a lemon with the peel on.
I’m going to start looking for receipes where I can use the pulp from this machine … maybe some veggie soup and bread ideas. Since I’m vegetarian anyway, I don’t care much for the idea of tossing perfectly good pulp/peels with their additional fiber and nutrients … not very often anyway. lol
I’m just so glad I bought this juicer and hope it lasts for a lot of years. Just in case, I did buy the additional Square Trade 3-year warranty, as I believe it covers things the “limited” warranty doesn’t cover.
Also, with use, if I find this machine to be lacking in any way, i’ll do an updated review … or, even a review to just say how great it continues to be!
Darn … on rereading my review, it seems a bit biased, but, honestly, I’m just so excited about this juicer! It seems to have everything I wanted it in a juicer (doesn’t have auto cleanup, tho … now THAT would be nice. 🙂
Happy juicing!

I was scared first, buying a used product, but it came out great.

After a few friends have sold me on how great juicing is, I decided to get a good juicer. I narrowed my price range to the ~$150 range. I was intrigued by the Breville models, who have a good reputation. However, after reading the reviews and features of the Cuisinart model, I decided to go with that. It had the two features I wanted (< 800 watt motor, multiple speeds) at a great price.
I’ve had several Cuisinart products in the past including the Duet Blender, mini food processor and a pot/pan set. All of these products have served me well and this Juice Extractor is no different. Being new to juicing, I’ve gotten tips from friends on what fruit/veggie combos to use. It was important to have multiple speeds on the juicer to more efficiently juice the various types of produce. The Cuisinart makes it simple to change speeds and the instruction/recipe booklet has proven to be a great source of information on what speeds to use for different types of produce.
The motor is quite powerful (1000 watts) but at the same time is fairly quiet. Juicing is easy; I don’t have to put a lot of force when juicing things like carrots and apples. The softer produce (mango, kale) is even easier, even at the lower speed settings. Assembly of the unit is very easy. Cleaning is going to be a chore no matter what type of juicer you use (according to my friends) but this Cuisinart doesn’t seem to be that difficult. I’ve use both the dishwasher (top rack only) and hand washed each piece and it wasn’t bad. The straining basket requires that you use the included brush (very helpful) but even that isn’t very time consuming. Kudos to the tips to line the pulp collector with a plastic bag; a real time saver.
Two really great features I like are the adjustable juice spout (several settings from completely off to fully on, which helps prevent spills) and the foam reducer on the juice container (siphons off the foam while you pour). I also enjoy the look of the product; the stainless steel accents my other appliances and is easy to clean.
If you are new to juicing and don’t want to spend a whole lot of money, I recommend this juicer. With a three year warranty and a good reputation that is Cuisinart, I’m more than happy with my purchase.

First off, let me just say that this is the first juicer I’ve owned or used. With that in mind, I am very impressed with this machine. I’ve juiced several different kinds of fruits and vegetables with mixed results. However, I suspect that where I had difficulty was due to my lack of experience and knowledge.
I purchased this machine after reading other reviews and because it is a Cuisinart and has a higher powered motor. It has never lacked for power. It churns through carrot, sweet potato and beet without bogging down in the least and produces great juice with very dry pulp. It handles apple, cucumber, ginger, broccoli and other medium firm fruit and veg well. However, softer fruit seems to produce fairly wet pulp. Juicing grapes and tomatoes both lost a significant amount of juice to the pulp.
If there is a downside, it is that, while it’s not terrible to clean, it’s not that well designed when it comes to cleaning it either. It has several nooks and crannies that are difficult. The top has a narrow channel that’s difficult to get into. There’s a deflector to channel the pulp into the bin that has a sharp angle that is a pain to clean behind. The extractor bowl also has a lip that slants downward and is smaller than I can get my fingers into. Ultimately though, all those areas have rinsed clean so far with just soap and water, so it hasn’t been a problem.
The machine is very nice looking and solidly built. It works great for carrots, and that was the one thing I was hoping for. It also works great on most other fruit and veg that I want to juice. So I am not anything but happy with my purchase. I recommend it without hesitation.

👍 haven’t got a chance to try it yet works great
Alex Ortiz –
No tiembla, no hace ruido, ….
