I am a seasoned musician proficient on lead guitar. I wanted to start learning the bass. Received it in new condition, upon playing it I was impressed with the quality of this entry level bass, the sound was superb and think the price was phenomenal.

I’ve been eyeballing this bass for a while, as I’ve been lusting after a P bass with a maple neck and black block inlays (which is something that’s generally not offered). I’ve heard other people say that the Squier Classic Vibe series is easily on par with more expensive instruments like the “Made in Mexico” Fenders (or better) and I have to believe that they’re right. I’ve only had this a day, but I’m already in love, and I’ve had or have some very expensive and well made basses and guitars to compare with over the years. The neck feels very good and there’s no fret ends sticking out anywhere. The hardware seems pretty good, as this is where companies save money on lower end stuff. The tuning gears seem to be really good, the pickups sound very good and the pots and jack seem decent (I’m a tinkerer and will likely change out the pots to some good CTS or Dunlop pots later). After a slight truss rod and string height adjustment I played it for a good hour to put it through the paces and I can definitely say it’s a keeper. Sounds and plays great out of the box, but as with anything, a little tweaking of the setup will never hurt (I’ll do intonation and a more thorough setup later). It’s pretty light (which anyone that’s played 4 hour gigs knows is a huge deal) and the finish on the body and neck is outstanding. The roasted maple neck looks stunning, and the body is very subtle, but the closer you look the better it looks. I’m well aware that it’s just a veneer over a cheaper wood, but the whole “tone wood” thing has been tested and proven to largely be a none issue with electric instruments, as 99% of the tone comes from the pickups and amp/speaker choices. This is my second Squier, and I must say this ain’t your uncle’s cheap piece of crap from yesteryear. Bravo on a well made, well priced and exceptionally functional instrument. A workin’ man’s bass, if you will.

Very nice looking overall but details on workmanship quality needs improvement. Flex in control when turning up or down. Nut needs tightening. Locking screw for volume knob not deburred sharp tip. Bottom strap lug not fully tightened conducive to guitar falling off strap. Headstock nut not shaped and rounded at slot. Neck inlay edges not flush with fretboard. None of these affect playability but having spent extra $$ above lower series Squier models these flaws should have been caught by the quality inspectors as they stamped/signed the attached tag. Dissatisfied in this regard but otherwise a good bass.

Bass arrived 24 hours after I ordered it. Surprised at how light it was. I let it acclimate for 24 hours then tuned it to standard EADG. Tag on the neck said it had been set up by ‘Vera’ and packed in December 2022. Set up was fine, no buzz, just the right amount of relief. Fretboard/truss did not require adjustment. Played it through my Fender ‘Rumble’ modeling amp and was pleased with the sound. Impeccably smooth finish , love the maple fretboard.

Es un poquito más ligero de lo que yo prefiero pero es un instrumento increíble, la línea Classic vibe de squier nunca decepciona con la gran calidad por el precio.

Squier never ceases to amaze me with the quality of their guitars and the Classic Vibe Precision bass is no exception! It’s rock solid with a WARM low end tone. Perfect for R&B (Sounds great when I played Motown, Isley Bros., etc.), blues, classic rock or pretty much anything. Its split-single coil pickup is simple yet punchy. The action of the strings is just right and mine came with D’addrio strings on it. It was ready to play. The vintage look is just pretty; black finish, glossy neck with block inlays, the vintage lettering on the headstock is a NICE touch. Overall, this is an awesome bass…great for beginners, amateurs, even pros. I highly recommend it!

I got the guitar and I actually like it very much but either one of the pickups or the volume knob has an intermittent open and continues to cut out so I’m sure I’m going to have to take it to the shop and spend another 100 bucks to fix it

I started playing guitar about 3 years ago . I mainly play rhythm guitar. I am a believer in purchasing quality instruments but since I am far from a professional musician I stay in the middle of the road on cost.
Recently, my band wanted me to play bass. I originally thought of getting a Fender P Bass but I couldn’t justify the cost at this time . Enter the Squier P Bass. I couldn’t be happier . All of the musicians I play with (which are vastly more experienced than me) have all commented on how great of an investment I made .
I read blogs and reviews . They all say that this is a perfect quality middle of the road bass. I may not be an expert but I have received a lot of compliments on this bass .
By the way , the mahogany is gorgeous

I’m a guitarist (not professional) and was looking for a bass with a reasonable price but a little above in terms of quality than the cheaper entry level Squier models. I really love this bass. I have been playing it for about a month now and it has a good sound and feel, very suitable for my own non-professional needs, including recording. It also looks great and very well constructed. It came with nice fabric adjustments. I will probably lower the action a little bit, but it’s playing very well and maintaining its tune. Very comfortable to play. Great buy!

Squier hits it out of the park with this one. If you’re wanting the Fender bass experience, but aren’t’ ready for the Fender price, you can’t go wrong here. Every player who has seen and/or handled this instrument is wowed by the quality of construction as well as the attractive finish and design. The sound is what you’d expect from a bass 2-3 times the price. Was delivered set up properly, buzz-free, nicely intonated.

These Squier Classic Vibe basses are the best value for money. As good as any US Fender bass. I have both the J bass and now the P bass. Alnico pickups, bone nut…and the finish is perfect.
