After a little research, I found that it would not be hard to replace the engine and cabin air filters in my 2021 Hyundai Palisade. I was nervous because I am not knowledgeable with cars, but I will tell you that a child could’ve done this. It took no time at all and was ridiculously easy. I read the reviews and it seems to be a great filter. I am very happy with my purchase and I will definitely buy this again when it is time to replace my filter. However, to be fair, the ease of changing the filter should not be credited to this product, Hyundai should get the credit for having the foresight to make it easy for the end consumer. However, the reviews I read and my experience have been very positive and so I will definitely buy this again in the future.

This fits perfectly in 2001 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. All the complaints are due to user error. This is a single direction slotted fit. Just flip it around. There is no modification necessary and the compartment door closed fine. There are no tabs, but the fit is tight enough that I’m not concerned of any movement.

I purchased this filter to replace the Carquest / OEM air filter which has been in the car since I initially purchased the car in January of 2020. I have attached several pictures to see how dirty my filter was versus this new one. With this new one you have to make sure you put it in the right way otherwise it will not fit. If you put it in the wrong way you will have about a quarter of an inch hanging outside the chamber and the lid will not lock in place. At first I thought I purchased the wrong filter or this would not work, but then I flipped it around the other way and it fit perfectly. So if you have a similar situation just flip it around and it should work. Like other reviewers said this filter does not have locking tabs, but it does have spring tabs on both sides to hold it in place. It should not go anywhere once the cover is locked in place. I did notice a slight Improvement in my miles per gallon after changing the air filter. I know I should have replaced it about a year ago, but the last time I checked it it was not dirty. Almost all of our driving is on highways and not in Dusty conditions, but I most likely will start changing the filter yearly anyways for the miles per gallon improvement if nothing else. Whether it has the locking tabs or not doesn’t matter so people should feel less outrage. In this case it has flex plastic pieces that hold the filter in place. Dealerships and Stealerships sell them like that too. stealerships in my context are dealerships+point systems (markup) like go auto in canada. This product is a good fit and good quality heft and feel. I can buy an identical but branded filter at the dealership for 17 dollars. The same thing costs me 30 at the stealership, but you get ‘points’. Yes go auto customers, that much cost difference. That’s all just fyi, I had the need and both the dealership and stealership are too far away for my circumstance so the fact I could get the filter and amazon didnt charge me MORE, is I guess good. Can’t fault amazon for selling a good product.

Replacing the Hyundai Palisade’s engine air filter is SO EASY thanks to the intelligent design and placement in the engine compartment. In fact, it’s so easy that I think Hyundai is trying to encourage owners to do it themselves. The Fram filter appears to be very high quality and every bit the equal of the OEM filter. Unlike the OEM filter, it does not have the locking tabs on each side, but fits into the slot snugly and cannot move once the access door is closed.
