Hamilton Beach Professional Professional 5-Speed Electric Hand Mixer 62658

I bought this mixer looking for something with better speed control, especially slower speeds. This mixer has a great speed range. It’s great for baking when you don’t want flour spread all over and want to start slowly. The dough hooks work great as well. I have used this many times over the last year and haven’t had an issue yet. I do wish the motor was more powerful. When working with dough I can often bring it to a near stop when on the highest setting. The mixer often smells like burning electronics due to the heat that builds up, but since it has a 5 year warranty, I just keep pushing it. That said, it hasn’t died yet and am quite impressed. If you do a lot of high speed mixing, especially with things like meringue or whipping cream, this is probably not the mixer for you. Although the highest speed is pretty quick, most other mixers run even faster and mix better. I keep this one for dough and my slow speed needs, and then use my cheap generic one for when I need high speed. If the motor had twice the power I would definitely give this a full 5 stars.

Wife puts lots of miles on appliances. (ok, dont go there yet) She goes all out for dinners. Had 3 hand mixers, the first was a wedding gift, expired in 1996. The last one by a known small appliance maker (lets call it ‘Moonbeam”) lasted 20 years. Times change. This has push in beaters, that on the previous brand had a release button that is mistaken for a hi speed button that makes a “premature ejection” or accidental beater release. (yep, i went there) Not this model. Has HI speed boost button that eliminated the accidental slinging of batter on the ceiling by testing the mix first by the button. The color is Mint Green and We can ID the beaters by the different shape as married to this machine. Motor is quieter that all the others, and its a Hamilton Beach. Even the name mimics the likes of a neighbor’s Butler. The case is heavy duty and has the hand release button (?) printed on the side. Handy. Released with ease instead of using counter as a battering ram. My OCD kitchen superior Literally had a big “O” assigning this beauty to its permanent home: cabinet B3…(assigned cabinets?) Yes. So, it now lives in a Deluxe condo above the Oven Hood, alongside the $350 margarita blender instead of the Section 8 Projects . A.k.a. Bottom drawer, under the junk drawer, alongside the broken B&D can opener, the 1975 model wafflemaker and an electric knife apparently orphaned to us by a second cousin on Thanksgiving ca.1987. Open box discount netted 40% off. Excellent investment.

I have used several brands of hand mixer and this unit by far out performs them all!
My kitchen aid hand mixer was truly terrible I would never get one again so I decided to give this one a whirl and hoped for the best.

From day 1 it exceeded my expectations!!!
Potatoes and fluffier and creamier, my cookie dough was blended so well it made the texture perfection.

Only downer no dough hook but I prefer to make my bread by hand and knead by hand.
If your a fan of dough hooks this one is lacking that attachment. If you can get past that trust me you will not be sorry one bit.

Worth every penny!!!
