This is a solid strong stainless steel kettle. Well worth the money. I had an expensive Swan kettle with the plastic exterior. Outside was trashed in 2 years. This feels as if it will last a long time. It is also quite petite but still has good capacity. Very stylish as well. Highly recommend

This KitchenAid electric kettle is perfect for quickly boiling up to 1.25 L of water. The onyx black version is glossy and rather stylish with the stainless steel accents. Very easy to use and clean, and includes an integral removable filter. While not a “smart” kettle, you can use a high-wattage smart switch to automate turning it on. Once the water boils, the kettle automatically shuts off. Note that there is no temperature control or keep-warm feature, but you can turn the kettle back on if the water cools to reboil it. Highly recommended overall!

I love this kettle, boils quickly, quietly, pours nicely and is attractive but it chips easily. I ordered the onyx, mistake. I have had it 8 months and due to the chips that have occurred from taking the lid on and off to fill it, unfortunately it looks shabby.
I am sad, but I still love my purchase.

This one replaced a Fellow model that was double the price and only lasted 2 years. It’s simple, beautiful and easy to clean. It shuts off automatically once the water boils. The lid stays on tight. With the Fellow model, I had to use 2 hands and hold the lid while pouring. I’m so happy the Fellow died.

uhh… seriously this is one of the cutest, awesome working, easy kettles i’ve ever had, hands down my absolute fav of all time… and I’m nearly 50:)
I don’t have anything really technical to say about it. its a qualtiy product. use is intuitive. I could easily keep this one for the rest of my days. and barring any unforseen weird malfunction, I would buy another one to replace…just a great all around product.
I would definitely recommend as a gift. there is a wide color assortment too.
FINAL: I PURCHASED THIS KETTLE July 22, 2017. TODAY IT STOPPED WORKING (2/08/2020). I am very sad – i loved this tea kettle. Truth is, This has been a work horse in our kitchen. Daily morning and often evening use as well. I’m not sure how long i expected this countertop appliance to work but it was longer than this. I have to say, that I still enjoyed using it everyday, the aesthetics bring a smile to my face still. On closer inspection the base has a small melted blemish, (I’LL POST PICS) but it’s not near the connectors so i don’t know if that’s the cause or what. But now I have to make another purchase, and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve tried connecting with kitchenaid via their live chat but it isn’t working today, so i sent them an email and have to wait a few days to hear back. In that time I will have already decided what to do. In fact I will most likely purchase one more and give this little dynamo the benefit of the doubt. I may also try just using the kettle on the stove…it is stainless steel after all. I still highly recommend this product. We are high use users, and this would probably have lasted another year or so with avg./normal wear.
