Everything works on my LRYKC2606S refrigerator. Only the bottom wide drawer is a crisper drawer and has control for temperature and humidity. The two side by side drawers above the bottom drawer have no controls. You must open both left and right doors to open the bottom wide crisper drawer. The two varieties of ice in the freezer section are ok but you can also turn them off. Tapping on the door to see what is inside saves on cold air loss. It regulates temperature fairly well for a container that has one side totally open to outside air when you gain access to things inside. I am told by reliable sources that the LG refrigerators are good for about 7 years. Many people will not get 7 good days. Our last LG refrigerator lasted 7 years with about 5 repairs. All complex refrigerators are not built for longevity. We have an old simple GE refrigerator and a simple Amana freezer. They will last 20 years or more. If you buy the more advanced refrigerator, be sure to get the 5-year warrantee and buy from a reputable dealer.

Had it plugged in for 24 hours. Lights went on but food never got cold. Tossed food in the garbage. Finally got someone on the phone but very bad connection. All I wanted was the sellers contact information. Never received it. I just wanted help. Now I have just requested a return.
BUY AT YOUR OWN RICK. IT’S NOW 10/10 – STILL HAVEN’T HEARD FROM THE SELLER. THEY DON’T
ANSWER THE PHONE. I am still without a fridge.

LG InstaView Smart Wi-Fi Enabled 22.5-cu ft 4-Door Counter-depth French Door Refrigerator with Ice Maker and Door within Door (Stainless Steel) ENERGY STAR
Model #LMXC23796S
Purchased on November 30, 2017 from Costco for $3095.74 and, on December 18, 2023, it died of the dreaded compressor failure.
Our refrigerator had good styling and functionality, but it did seem to have a problem with moisture condensing on the contents of the refrigerator and, six months after purchase, the “stainless steel” exterior on the doors and drawers started to show signs of rust. Reasonable quality stainless steel does not rust and is not magnetic; the faces of the doors and drawers were magnetic. We had six years of use with that refrigerator, which was half of LG’s projected lifespan of 12-13 years. This occurred despite the fact that we moved the refrigerator out approximately every 6 months to clean it, vacuum the vents, remove the lower panel, and brush and vacuum accessible parts.
The Linear Compressor Problem
LG has faced problems with its linear compressor for 10 or more years. As the linear compressors continue to fail, LG has sent out technicians for linear compressor repair. Technicians use the same defective LG-manufactured part (linear compressor) as replacements that are certain to fail again.
If a failed refrigerator was under warranty, LG would pay for the compressor part, but labor and associated needed repair parts could add up to $1000.00. A problem now is finding a technician in your area who will want to work on an LG if you are willing to wait several weeks.
I unplugged the refrigerator, waited several minutes and reset it by plugging it in again. I used the start relay, then received an error code on the back electrical panel: Linear Compressor.
LG has settled many class action lawsuits over the past 10± years with several more in progress. Payouts range from several hundred dollars to almost your full retail price depending upon what class you filed with and/or how much documentation you can provide.
At this time, it would seem that LG would be wise to admit that there was a problem, settle with everyone, and move on.
South Korea’s LG (Lucky GoldStar) Electronics Inc. has and does produce some good electronics and appliances. They should manufacture what they are best at but not refrigeration.

Constant beeping!! The sensors beep when the door is left open continue even after the door is shut properly. We even tried removing the entire sensor but the backup sensor would beep instead. Google it. It’s a common issue.
LG charges $400 for a repairman to even look at it! Definitely do not recommend.
Also the latch broke that opens the door. Have owned this for less than 2 years.
Dallas Chip –
Filled with cheap plastic parts that break easily and cost a fortune to replace. Worst refrigerator I’ve owned in 60 years.

Just had our maybe 3 year old French door LG refrigerator carted out of here. Compressor died. Food spoiled. The authorized repair guy told us it would be $1500 to fix. Unfortunately LG does NOT cover labor. The “covered” $400 compressor wasn’t covered for us because we couldn’t locate our original bill of sale as proof of purchase! Would never touch another LG appliance again. Since we also heard that a new compressor might fail yet again, we decided to replace this LG with a nice GE Cafe French door refrigerator. If you still want an LG, make sure you also purchase a separate repair contract which covers everything!

I had my fridge for less than 3 years and it stopped cooling. This is a known issue with LG and wish I was aware when I was in the market. I will never buy another one again.

The craft ice maker broke in under a year.
For a $4k smart fridge, this fridge isn’t very smart. It can’t send you an alert if there are problems such as the freezer temp being higher than expected, or numerous other error states the fridge can find itself in. Even running a diagnostic shows “everything is OK” when things are missing and not working. LG needs to fix the health status features on this fridge.
