I scoffed when I read the reviews that said this kettle had rusted. It had to be _their_ water, right? And this is stainless steel, which doesn’t rust, right? We use good filtered water, so it won’t be a problem for us, right? In less than a month, I started seeing discoloration at the edges of the inside bottom, so I rubbed some wadded up paper towel around the inside bottom edge, and sure enough, it came out with rust color on it. And no, it wasn’t hard water deposits. Wow. We have another electric gooseneck kettle (Cosori) that has been in regular use for 2 years, and there are no signs of rust in that one, so it’s absolutely not our water. I bought the Offacy kettle because it had finer temperature control; the Cosori only has 5 preset temps. Needless to say, the Offacy kettle was returned. I tried to get by cheaply by getting the Offacy, so it serves me right. I guess I’ll hold off and pay the premium price for the Fellow kettle, and avoid the rust issue.

Hace todo lo que dice y todo lo que necesito como entusiasta de té. Medí la temperatura con un termometro externo y es precisa. Vengo de tener una Hamilton Beach que duró 1 año y despues una Bonavita que duró 3. No vale la pena gastar mas; éstos aparatos no duran mas que unos pocos años marca barata o cara.

The kettle has a pretty good temp. control. The water temperature is the same as what I was set, I checked it with my trustworthy thermometer.
Also, the flow control is effortless, better than the Hario V60 kettle. It is the perfect pour-over kettle if it will not rust.

This is a great little gooseneck kettle. Good temperature control, and decent laminar flow from the spout. I’m still very happy with it after daily use for a couple of months. Here’s a couple of helpful things to know:
1) To retain any settings you change (def C / deg F, beep off / on, set temperature), leave it plugged in and turn it off with a long press of the knob. Unplugging it will reset everything (to beep on, deg F, set = 170F)
2) When the lid is opened, especially after the kettle cools, the water which condensed on the underside will drip. You can tip the lid to drip back into the kettle, instead of on the countertop or kettle base.
My wish for a change would be to make the display a little bigger and able to read in direct sunlight.

I love my Bonavita kettle, but we are staying at my in-laws’ due to a move and I couldn’t bring it with me on an airplane. I decided to get a cheap kettle to use while we are here, and this one fit the bill. I wasn’t expecting to like it so much! The kettle itself is really nice and sturdy, although the base is very lightweight and a little wobbly. For the price this kettle is really phenomenal! The cord is a reasonable length, too, compared to the Bonavita, and the timer works better. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still pick the Bonavita out of the two because we have a bond, and the quality is better overall. However, if you don’t have much to spend, and want a nice, attractive little kettle, I don’t really think you can beat this one!

Me parece un hervidor perfecto, para un set amateur para cafe de metodos. Cuento con otro hervidor similiar, mas robusto, pero ese es directo a la estufa, lo cual demora mas tiempo en calentar, asi como en estar regulando la temperatura.
Me costo un poco al inicio acostumbrarme al peso, ya que es aproximadamente la mitad de peso de mi otro hervidor.
Lo uso en promedio de 2-4 veces al dia para preparacion de metodos, como Chemex, Aeropress y Flair. En todos teniendo un excelente resultador. A mi parecer podria funcionar en una barra de cafe especializado o un pequeño negocio.

After >30min indicating as 140℉ hold, I turn it off then turn it back on seeing the temperature reading is at 143℉ as the actual temperature at that instant. This is for filtered water temperature control.
After > 40 minutes, the temperature indicates 135℉ when the hold is released.
As advertised “The automatic thermostat maintains the optimal beverage temperature for up to 1 hour”, but it only holds for 40-45 min approximately.
