Pros:
– good size, difficult to lose it
– can be opened/unscrewed into two halves which makes cleaning very easy and refills are easy too
– the bottom of the “egg” has a rubberized opening which allows cats to get tongues inside, so you can use wet food/tuna in it as well as dry kibbles, and they can lick it out
– top openings for can be adjusted to suit a range of treat/kibble sizes
– can set the openings to be closed, 1 open, 2 open or all 3 open
Cons:
– can be tricky to get the treads lined up properly to screw it closed. There’s a knack to it. Has to be exactly right or else it won’t screw together, or can screw together crookedly.
– bottom of egg is not weighted, so it just rolls on it’s side and the kibble comes out easily, so the cat doesn’t have to work as hard for It as they do with round treat balls. Would be good if it was weighted in the bottom so that it wobbles around but stands itself up again, like a jumping bean!

I did not like that it does not wobble. It’s an egg shaped ball that rolls around the floor too much. The plastic-on-plastic screw cap sticks and is very hard to open and close. I rubbed coconut oil around the rim so it could move more freely. It does hold a lot of treats and the openings are adjustable. I prefer to use my old weighted one that actually wobbles and doesn’t roll away as easily.

Makes feeding time more interesting for the 3 cats in our house; seems to be the sturdiest, best adjustable “treat ball” on the market. They don’t chase it around; they nudge it gently. Recommend three-hole setting at with holes a little more than half closed for ordinary dry food kibbles. Treat balls are among life’s necessities if you’re not going to let your cats outdoors. We give ours only a portion of their daily calories in 3 separate Egg-cersizers in the evening. They also get canned food in wide shallow bowls at other times of day, and another serving of grain-free kibble in a different eating-challenge device in the morning. Beware: The Egg-Cersizer leaves crumbs; don’t use it on rug or carpet. We put 2 tablespoons in each, or about 50 calories per Egg-Cersizer. As others who have used these have noted, the halves can be tricky to align correctly so they screw back together; one of ours has also become hard to unscrew.

Oh yes I can definitely recommend this toy. Not a lot gets my girl moving as she is getting quite elderly. This toy has proved invaluable. She will only eat her dry food if it is put in the Egg-Cersizer!! I had a similar item a few years ago which didn’t float her boat but this one really makes her happy. She will always seek me out if the Egg-Cersizer is empty!! I would highly recommend this product. It is well-made and easy to fill.
