Received what seemed to be a working collar. After only 1-2 months it will no longer come on. I tried multiple chargers. All of them said it was a full charge. I believe there is a defect on it which of course is after the 30 day warranty and Amazon virtual chat just says it’s out of warranty. Pet safe manufacturer has also been notified severel days ago and I haven’t heard from them either. I have had several of these collars that have lasted a couple of years however the warranty for a defective one is something to be desired.

I installed this system as a 650′ boundary fence. It was an easy install with good instructions. Easy in the sense that I had no trouble doing it, but burying 650′ of wire took time. I used a lawn edger to dig the 1″ to 3″ deep trench. I did it when the weather was warm, but it’s now in frozen ground under a foot of snow and still works perfectly. Our dog is a very energetic 12 lb. Terrier and this fence keeps her on the property. The rechargeable collar is a nice feature and the first charge lasted over 3 months. Highly recommended.

Many years ago I had a radio fence for my Siberian husky’s, i got a golden puppy last August and tried the wireless fence first but the coverage area was too small. I returned it and got this model. Perfect. Two weeks in and I would say she is trained. She shocked herself twice and hasn’t tried since. She hears the tone and stops. She might lay by the boundary some and watch my neighbors dogs inside their fenced area, but that’s fine since the batteries are rechargeable, and she has much more room to rain than they do. Win win

Works well for our large pit bull and easy to install, would be nice to have a little thicker of wire as it’s easy to damage and breaks the circuit. Also when dog just jump over fence the collar stops shocking would be nice if it kept going for when the dog has gone out of the boundary fence. ( not strong enough to stop tunnel vision )

Everything in this package is very high quality. The collar has 5 settings – tone, tone w/correction levels 1 thru 4. It is rechargeable and the literature says a charge should last about 2 months. Included is 500 feet of solid core wire; because of the way I had to layout the perimeter I needed to buy another 500 feet. A local pet supply store carried it for about $18. Laying out and burying the wire is the most labor intensive and time-consuming part of the job. I just wanted to “fence” in the backyard and opted to run the wire around the back, then back track along the same path in order to complete the loop. Other options include running the wire around the front of the house or up and into the roof line (gutters?) or attic, which Petsafe did not recommend. As far as burying the wire, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you search local rental places for a wire-feed trencher. This machine costs about $70/day in Atlanta, was very hard to find, but was a huge help. In short, it digs the trench, buries the wire, and dumps the dirt on top of the wire. I still had to clear some areas in advance by cutting tree roots and moving rocks. However, once I got going I laid about 450 feet of wire in a little over an hour.
As far as training your dog(s), the manual gives excellent instruction. You will need about 2 weeks of leash training, followed by 2 weeks of unleashed but supervised training. FOLLOW THE MANUAL – don’t take shortcuts. It’s easier to teach the dog right the first time than retrain a dog with bad habits.
I now have 3 Papillons running freely in the back yard with no problems. They each had their quirks; one learned almost immediately, one so-so, and the other was hard-headed. I am convinced that by not taking shortcuts I was able to shepherd all 3 successfully through the process.

We got this as an additional collar for our 2nd dog. Never have any issues with it and is a direct replacement on our PetSafe system. Easy to fit and trim and stays charged for a long time.

La persona que está haciendo la instalación ha instalado estos aparatos varías veces y esto no sucede. Ha revisado que no haya nada que interrumpa o interfiera la señal y aún la alarma suena.

Although the shipping took longer than I would have liked, I finally received this and MAN, how did I ever live without this? I can’t even imagine not having it now. Firstly, it is simple to put up, the instructions are so well written and clear, I think a 10 year old could do it. If you have an existing fence, you do not have to put this in the ground. I read on some reviews that this is a huge chore buying, and if you have a huge yard, I guess it is, but I just attached it to my fence, used my lawn edger to help dig a rut where there was no fence, and boom, it’s up. After MUCH research for a couple of months, I decided on this because it isn’t wireless. The big huge wireless box is not only ginormous and ugly, but it doesn’t have good reviews overall, and is prone to failure for many reasons, including that the signal fluctuates and makes the boundary you set move up to 2′ either way at any given time. First, you lay it out around the area you want to fence, making sure it’s just as you want it. They include helpful tips and advice too to help you in deciding how to lay your fence. At first, I was just going to lay it around the perimeter of my yard, but they show all kinds of ways to protect your pool area, garden spot, and cover difficult areas. They also explain how to train your animal precisely, which I was kind of worried about, but if you just follow their instructions on what and how to train on what days, it’s simple. Days 1-5 for example, you just walk your pet around with the unit off and give him treats when he avoids the flagged areas. You do this for 30 minutes a day or something. Then day 6-10, for example, you’d see if he avoids the area by himself, and if he does you praise him a lot and reinforce the training. It accelerates up to about 2-3 weeks with progressive training. Even an idiot could do it. There is some adjustment work just making sure it works the way you intended, giving you the opportunity to reset the wires or whatever. And of course, you have to fit the collar to your specific pet, since all pets are different sizes, fur thicknesses etc. But they tell you all about that, too. I just think this is a well designed product that works great. It seems like they have thought of everything, and they give you pet training tips and tell you what to do to leave your area with your pet (because you don’t want them to be afraid to cross the line when they have to go to the vet, for instance). They explain what to do if your animal gets out of the protection area. You can buy additional wire, flags, a second or third collar, and anything else you need. They also include some waterproof gel to use in case you have to splice in additional wire. The gel is a capsule shaped container of gel that you put the spliced wire into, close it to seal, and then use, because you need your wiring to be waterproof. This particular unit is rechargeable, but I decided it was worth the investment so I don’t have to buy the exclusive petsafe batteries that everyone thinks are so high. They don’t seem that high to me, but maybe the non-rechargeable units use a lot of batteries. Anyway, this is a complete set with every little thing you could ever think of, even things that aren’t pictured. It even has a surge protector included, so all in all a great price for such a great product. Now my cats cat climb over the fence to the cat hating dogs and people on the other side. They can’t get into the street on the front of the house and get hit by a car. But they can have freedom to play outside, catch bugs, lay under the shade tree, roll around on the patio, bask in the sun, chase squirrels, and just be cats. I’m so thrilled I got this!!!! And so are my babies!!

I have bought several of these over the last 4 years. They work well to keep the dogs in the yard, and in my case keep my Malinois from ripping the fence apart to bring our Shih Tzu back into the yard. I have found that the prongs to work themselves loose over time and a good practice is to tighten them either before or after charging.

Battery life is good, get several days out of one charge. However the overall life of the battery is not great. I usually have to replace the whole collar at the 1 year mark. I had one that only made it 6 months but was given a replacement. I will keep buying these as needed.

I love this product. We always had battery powered ones and we were having to buy new ones every couple of weeks. This one lasts about 6 weeks on a single charge. Highly recommend
