Bad shopping experience! Japanese brand made in China! I suspect it is a complete rip-off of the Japanese brand! It is completely a Chinese seller! Cheap materials. There is a weird smell at first!

it’s gorgeous and feels substantial and high quality. quick to boil , intuitive controls , allows one to pour very precisely and slowly for specialty coffees , which is what we mainly use it for , and the temperature is accurate. keep warm feature is handy , but mainly I want to stress how NICE it looks and feels . I’m always glancing across the kitchen for it and I go out of my way (making way too many coffees) just for how satisfying it is to pour figure 8s and different shapes into my aeropress (which is a very small chamber ! ) and seeing the coffee grinds bloom.

The kettle looks very stylish and the ergonomics make it easy to control the pour. While the sides are hot, the base stays cool so the kettle can be safely set on the counter.
I tested the heat-up to 200F and checked the temperature using my Thermapen Once. After giving the unit a couple of minutes to temperature settle after the initial heat-up, the temperature reading on the base matched the Thermapen. I checked the hold temperature over a 15-minute period and the heating element kept the water temperature right at the set temperature. The heating is rapid, on a half-filled kettle, the heater raises the temperature about a degree per second. Keep in mind that the heating element is not controlled by a PID, so on the initial heat-up the heating element overshoots the target temperature (set at less than boiling temperature), in my case a 200F target temperature was 208F on the initial heat-up, just give it a couple of minutes for the temperature to settle and it will be back at the target water temperature and the kettle will remain at the temperature. Again this is completely expected without a PID controller and no big deal if you don’t pour the water as soon as the unit beeps that it is ready.
The instructions are hard to follow because the wording and grammar are so bad but you should be able to figure it out because the unit is not complicated to use.
As far as longevity goes, only time will tell, but so far I’m impressed with the kettle.

I had high expectations for this good looking kettle. It worked great for about 9 months. All of a sudden, when turned on, it would shut down and I’d have to press the button about 5 times for it to kick in to get it to boil. Very disappointed as this isn’t in the cheap kettle category, but it performs as a cheap item. I’m now in the market for a new kettle and it will not be a Polivar.

I set it at 200 degrees, it heats up and the thermometer stops at 200, but when I take it off and put it back on it registers up at 208 and I need to take the lid off to cool it back down. It then does a good job of maintaining that temperature afterwards. I would just prefer that the thermometer recognize the initial overheating.

We’ve had this teakettle for 5 months now and love it. Zero issues with it. No crazing of the dial, heats water fast and pours easily. Although we drink coffee in the morning, we drink tea in the afternoon and sometimes in the evening. We have suddenly become tea connoisseurs and must have ten varieties of tea that we’ve ordered online from the Tea Spot in CO.
It did take me a few minutes to figure out how the controls work. The information they send is very confusing. I figured it out from reading reviews, lol. It’s simple. Press on and then boil, to get it to heat to 212 degrees. Most teas want the full boil of 212 degrees but some don’t need to be that hot. The Tea Spot tells you on the package. In that case, once it starts to heat, keep an eye on the temp as it rises and hit the warm/hold button when it reaches the temperature that you want. If you’ve selected boil after you turn it on, once it reaches 212, it will turn off and start cooling down. You can hit the warm/hold button at any point to stop that if you want to keep the water hot. Press the on/off button to turn it back off. The basic lights will stay on when plugged in but they don’t get hot and again, no crazing of the controls, no wearing off of the writing. I read complaints about that so I waited a long time before writing a review, to make sure it didn’t happen on ours.
Anyway, we love the teakettle. It looks nice, zero problems, works well. I also ordered those tea balls in front of the kettle as it’s cheaper to order tea in bulk than in sachets or teabags. They also work excellently. They’re the 2 pack Reinmoson Tea Strainers. They look nice and fit narrow cups as well as deep ones.

Well it was great for first 8 months. We used it almost everyday but now it doesn’t even start. One fine morning we woke up to find that this kettle will never wake up again. They say it comes with 1 year warranty. We filed the complaint and they quickly shipped a new one. Amazing customer service and standing by your products. Thank you.

It’s a very esthetically pleasing kettle. I love the dark green with the wood looking handle. The gooseneck makes for a very controlled and steady pour over/chemex coffee. It has a keep warm option that is very convenient as a busy mom who walks away and forgets and always ends up reboiling the kettle.🤣
My only complaint is the actual handle has a hole where it is screwed into the base and it’s placement is kind of inconvenient. My finger always pinches the hole when i pick up the kettle so i now find myself trying to hold the handle different so it is more comfortable. I wish it could’ve been filled in after they attached the screw to make for a smoother finish.
For the price I would prefer to not have anything to complain about! I might have returned it if I had noticed before throwing out the box. At the end of the day, it works well and makes my coffee station look pretty. So mixed feelings!
The Things You Said –
Heats up pretty quickly. Long Spout provides good pouring control. Love the Look of it. Very Classic and nice addition to any kitchen

I love how this works. It heats up very fast, pours perfect, the size is right and I love the design. Quite glad to have. Reading reviews made me question the on/off temperature selection. I haven’t had any problems. I did read one review where they noted they used an on/off wall outlet. I thought that was a great idea, so got one for each of the 2 plugs on the the wall outlet. That way there is no electric drain when the machines are not being used.

I wanted to upgrade my gooseneck kettle. I did have a budget I wanted to keep to. There were several options for much less money, but no reviews or comments. The Poliviar was the less expensive option that had reviews, and many good reviews, which helped me choose. I will say that it is intended for the American market as the settings reset every time you turn off the device back to degrees Fahrenheit. I reset when I turn on, to be fair it is only a minor inconvenience. I will also say it starts to heat up when you turn it on, regardless if you press the boil or keep warm button, another minor inconvenience. It will maintain temp when keep warm is selected and it is easy to use and I am happy about the purchase.
