This was advertised as a direct replacement for my 2006 Honda VTX 1300R. It is not. I spent some time accessing and removing my ignition switch only to find out they are not the same. Mine has 3 wires, this new one has 5. The plug is totally different, once again a complete waste of my time.

Installed the ignition switch and gas gap on my 2011 Honda Shadow Phantom 750 and works great. To add the ignition switch you do have to cut and splice wires as they are not compatible with the originak plug and you only connect two wires to bike do not need to use other wires just cut them off. Attaches to original ignition bracket without much issues but you will need little customization with nuts and bolts.

I ordered this and noticed it’s not plug and play, as the plug on my bike is a 3 prong and the connector on this new ignition is a 4 prong connector, so i cut the new plastic ignition connector block so i could try and manually connect the prongs (i wanted to try connecting 3 out of 4) and after some swearing and frustration it worked with 3 of 4 connect, only 1 of the black ones needs to be connect. but only 1 of them works properly, so if you have issues try switching the black wire to the other (1 other thing to note is the mounting points don’t match so you can only mount it by 1 bolt)

Only complaint isn’t the fact that I had to swap pins out of the connector into the original connecter. But the wires are so short it almost doesn’t reach the bikes harness, but gas cap works, key ignition works, I’m happy with my purchase so far
