This is a fairly heavy-duty box and the removable nature makes it simple to install. The latch won’t stay closed and the door flops open if you don’t have it locked. The drawers are smooth and open and close easily now that they are loaded. *edit* I’ve had it in use for over a month now and the lock just flat out sucks. The weight of the drawers pushes against the door and the lock bends over and the thing opens. Only the tailgate prevents my tools from scattering. ***Ok… last update. This thing is JUNK! cheap metal holding the pins bent and the whole thing separated from the base. Fell over and bent the box. The drawers separated and pulled the slides out one side and it is now trash. DO NOT BUY

This box is very well made. The 5 drawers roll very smooth and do not feel cheap at all. The lock locks the box good but could be a better made lock. Being that the door sits flush with the front, the lock is sufficient enough to keep most people out because there is no way to really pry the door open. The box is removable and separates with its base which is how it mounts to the bed of the truck. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the way it mounts to the bed from the bottom could be stronger. It needs to mount to the side to make it even stronger. There are 6 bolts on the bottom and even with them all on I think if someone really wanted it they could just keep moving it side to side and it would eventually come off. If it was connected to the side too it would eliminate that. I have a 07 Chevy 2500 and the bed of the truck is rounded so it makes it impossible to put the box directly against the side of the bed so it is sitting about 2 1/2 inches away from the side.
Edit: After I have owned this for a week, we have had it rain here and to my surprise I went out the next day and there was rust coming out of all the seams. I have not scratched the paint or anything like that. So now I have had to clean this off and I have now had to caulk all the seams so water cant get between the overlapped seams. This is MADE TO BE OUTSIDE. You would think they would have at the least used a galvanized steel so this doesn’t happen. Was very happy about my purchase at first but am getting very disappointed in this tool box. I had rated this at first at 4 but the steel is not that thick so 1 year at the most and this thing would be so rusted that I couldn’t use it due to the looks. If you buy it as soon as you get it out of the box make sure you caulk ALL of the seams.

I bolted it to the truck bed behind the wheel well to keep small tools I use often. It lives under the topper, so the swing down door is redundant. Drawers slide easily and hold a full drawer. I use it every day; but still, it seems a little expensive for what it is.

A little pricey but….Easy to install. Because of some reviews, hubby did add a brace for added stability. It holds just as much as his old toolbox did but is so much more accessible now. No more climbing into the back of the truck and making sure he has enough clearance to open the drawers. He loves it and shows it off to all the guys. Would buy again!

I ordered 2 boxes. Packaging was sketchy as one had to be returned for dents. The customer service for the replacement was good but … the second box also had dents in it. The packaging was pretty bad. I kept the second box as the dents would not be visible. I also had to play with the lock/latch on the second box as it did not fit properly. I had these boxes on my last truck and loved them but it seems the quality has gone down and packaging needs improvement. I suspect they are now using a thinner metal (as just moving them I caused a dent on the box I didn’t return.) I hope they are still as waterproof but time will tell for that.
