Assembly took me at least 3hrs by myself. Holes were really tight and putting in the screws damaged the paint and wood so have to do it slowly and carefully. At first attempt of putting the drawers in, I almost felt disappointed especially with the top drawer as it was not leveled with the other drawers. But then I realized it needs to be tilted and pushed downward so it can fit. Problem solved for me. Then comes the hardest part which are the door hinges. I have to use a power tool to tighten the screws and adjusting the door to make it soft when opening or closing was a pain. Overall I love how it looks like. Hopefully will lasts for years since it looks sturdy enough.

I like this cabinet. It’s sturdy (for what it is) and works really well for what I need it for (organizing office supplies). I wouldn’t suggest using in as a step stool or anything like that, but I am considering buying a second one (not for a step stool). My only complaint is that assembly is a bit rough. So, a few tips/observations:
DO NOT use the included screwdriver. I did for the first 1/3 of the job and now have 2 torn blisters on my hand. I was listening to a live stream and didn’t want to walk away to get my cordless screwdriver. Poor life choice. Note to self: use your wireless headphone, nitwit!
But DO NOT use your screwdriver on high speed and be as “gentle” with the screws as you can be (not always possible with this).
The bottom inserts for the drawers go ONE way. They look like they could go either way, but if backwards, the holes will not line up with the rails correctly(-ish… they don’t REALLY line up, tbh). But they’re bendy, so you can pop them out and get them back in without disassembling if you notice while you’re trying to line up the rails properly. Not that I would have any experience with this. I /definitely/ didn’t get 3 out of 5 wrong. Yeah. For sure didn’t do that. Nope.
There are retainer clips to keep the backing boards in nice and stable. I like these, they’re a nice touch. Maybe my favorite for this build (I’m easily amused). What I am not enamored with is the instruction step that shows their installation. It took me forever to figure out where they went, what they were for, and how they were oriented and installed. Once I did, it was obvious.
Many of the screws are difficult to drive in straight, in part due to holes not quite lining up. This was particularly problematic with the rails attached to the inside of the cabinet. If the screws are not flush, they will cause the drawers to catch and not slide smoothly. I had to go back and correct three. I still have one that has a barely perceptible bump in the slide, but I can’t be bothered to fix it. I’ll use that drawer for things no one uses anymore. Like stamps and envelopes. Mail? Do we have that anymore?
I also hate casters. But that’s a rant for another time.
There were multiple extras of every piece of hardware except the “big” pieces (like rails and hinges). I didn’t need any extra, but it’s nice to know if I spilled all the little screws, I’d be able to find enough of them in my pile carpeting to finish the build and could find the rest walking barefoot in my office over the next year or so. My tetanus shot is up to date. I think.

I just finished assembly. This product is cheaper than cheap. I don’t say that lightly. Please read my review and know I am being honest and truthful. I purchased the white cabinet with 5 drawers and the open side door with shelf. The box arrived beat up, but not so bad that I would have tried to return it without even trying to assemble. Unfortunately I probably should have gone with my gut and not been so positive.
Assembly instructions are OK, but they leave an out a few key things. It was only halfway through assembly that I finally started seeing the tiny sticker numbers on all the pieces. I was doing fine without them until the top/bottom situation. Both pieces look identical from one side, and no where did it state, other than the number, what I was looking at. I guessed wrong and had to redo it. Not the worst thing I have ever done. Whatever. Move on. The top doesn’t fit flush to the sides, I have light showing through the crack and I can’t get it to connect completely but it is enough to work. I am also noticing a lot of nicks on the finish that would not have been from transit, and I am assembling this on carpet. This finish is flakier than the typical flat box store I normally buy from.
The drawer construction while annoying is how I would prefer drawers to be assembled. I feel like this is sturdier and can hold more weight in the drawers than other ways. So points for a pretty good drawer set up. The wheels however. THE WHEELS.
One of them happens to not be turning AT ALL and feels like it is just getting dragged along. It’s not a wheel that locks. So I don’t know WHAT its problem is. I am not flipping this back over to inspect the wheel. I only bought this particular unit because I knew it would fit under my desk. So if the wheels aren’t working it basically useless to me. I need to be able to bring it out from under the desk to access items when I am working. I was planning on using the top as an extra workspace. This would have been great except now I am worried I am going to be scratching my floor every time it gets moved.
I would not buy this again. The biggest reason? I, a 5’2” weakling of a woman, was causing it to crack in places. I normally ask my husband to come back and tighten things after I am done assembling. I absolutely will not be asking him to do that. Also when the foil finish is flaking and cracking off the areas you are putting screws into, this is a sure sign of poor quality. This was happening all over.
The biggest reason I will keep this item aside from the absolute pain in the a** it would be to try and return this item: It will fit where I need it to. I just won’t be able to utilize it as much as I would have liked. It’s pretty ugly with all the nicks but it’s living under my desk so it’s not like I am putting it on display. If you can deal with all these quirks maybe I just got a poor quality piece and everyone else got higher quality versions. But I am looking around for better options than buying from this company again.
