I bought these for my bass player husband. He loved them. He said the tone was better and easier on his fingers! He has not had any breakage problems!

These strings look great, sound great and the coating is easy on the fingers

great as always,”

These strings look and sound great. They have held tune perfectly and although the black coating kind of wears off the strings where you pluck them, they feel sturdy and smooth and have a nice clear tone. I expect them to last awhile. Very happy with them.

I got these strings for the wrong reason: I like the way they look.
That said, I hate the way they sound. And feel.
These are apparently heavy strings, however the 110 gauge E feels weak and limp. Which is nice for bending and vibrato, but I just prefer a beefier feel. These also feel very plasticky.
The sound does not at all make me think of bass. It’s like scraping my teeth on the edge of a tin can. Very harsh and …tinny.
I’m sure for a great deal of people out there, these are great strings, or else they wouldn’t be making them. But they just weren’t for me.
They look awesome, but i switched back to my standard a week after putting these on.

Nice sounding and looking black strings.

I have used DR strings exclusively for years, these are awesome. They last considerably longer than non-coated strings and sound great. For anyone wondering if they feel any different than traditional strings, they feel identical. If you play with a pick you might experience some of the coating being scraped off but that seems obvious… or you could just be a real bass player and play finger style and not worry about that happening!

These strings sound awesome!! Crisp, clean, and deep tone underneath it all!! They Look great too! We play heavy metal in drop C. And these strings only seam to last like 2 or 3 practices before the low E string breaks at the saddle just where it bends over the bridge. Replacing the strings every few weeks at 20+$ a pop is getting spendy. I’ve Had my bass looked at and everyone is saying it has to be the strings. So I suppose I’m going to look for a different brand that lasts longer. I play an ESP ltd B-1004 delux it’s a pretty nice bass and I feel like I don’t like hammer on them or mistreat them. Really wish these we’re more durable and lasted longer.

Sound great. And they are coated so there is not a lot of finger noise.

Not only do they sound great but they look great. They last a very long time as well.
