The outlaw exhaust sounds excellent! Definitely the best sounding I’ve seen on a Jeep. I also love the dual exhaust tip with the Flowmaster writing on top of each. Makes the Jeep look sharp! I previously read some reviews about them ‘being too loud’. This is not true. Cannot hear it anymore than the stock when driving down the highway/interstate. The loud hum is generally when accelerating around 2000 rpm when it is taking off, but quiets down when it gets in idle. Highly recommend as it was also a very easy install!

It is true, these seem to come a little chipped and not perfect. However, your getting it about $120.00 less than any other site i have checked. I simply painted my muffler right out of the box using high temp primer followed by high temp paint. Looks great and is now well protected. As long as your zen about having to re-paint this you will LOVE the sound and look. Super easy to install…little banging, clanging and pop you have a super cool muffler! Took me about 45min in all to do the entire job.
It is very loud and at 2krpm you will hear a drone, but can back it off and most of the time you do not hear that. Sounds super cool on the highway and cold start. Tons of videos out there that are accurate on the sound. Good quality for the $ again as long as you know you will/should plan to repaint with high temp primer and paint.

I thought I’d do something that I haven’t seen any other reviews had done. I wanted to describe the sound. My 2017 Rubicon now yells to everyone around. It sounds like a Flowmaster on a 5.0 Ford Mustang. The difference is, at idle, you won’t really know it’s there. On Jeeps that haven’t been modified, all you can hear is the fan and belts. At idle, with this muffler, there’s only a slight, and very quiet burble. That immediately changes the moment you hit the go pedal. To be honest, after I had installed it, and backed out of the garage, I thought I was going to have to remove the resonator, like I had done in my old 2008 Rubi. I sat in the Jeep and was upset at how quiet it was. All those thoughts were immediately chucked after placing it into drive, and giving it a little goose on the pedal. Now… Whenever I want, I can juice it, and sound like the baddest truck on the street. By the way, I love when the truck shifts… Even when I’m going moderately, because of the low burble it makes.
And yes… You can finally have a muffler that doesn’t make your Jeep sound like a cracked out Subaru!
The tone is super low, you’ll love it, and be prepared to go through whatever gas was in your tank quickly, because you’ll want to floor it often. It’s a truly addictive noise that’s actually easy enough to modulate with your right foot so you can keep your neighbors off your back.

LOUD! If you want to know how this muffler sounds, just take your stock muffler off and drive down the road. The major difference:
-The Outlaw doesn’t drone at 1500 rpm (it is very mellow and sounds good); straight pipe does.
I sent this product back for two reasons:
1. I have a 2011 Unlimited automatic with big tires. When you get going uphill, and transmission down-shifts, prepare to put in the ear plugs. At 2500 RPM and higher, this thing is LOUD! Like won’t be able to talk inside the cab LOUD.
2. When it is at those RPM levels, it sounds more like buzz buzz muffler (think foreign car glass-pack) than the sound I wanted (which was something that sounded more like a V8. Of course, it’s a 6 cyclinder, so it is what it is.)
However, it does look awesome, and has a great echo. The tips look great and allow you to adjust the echo some. Great muffler overall, just louder than I expected. I heard the video on the Flowmaster site, and it sounded like it had more air flowing through… But the Jeep that was featured had a super-charger, so that may have been the difference.

Yah, Buddy! It’s like a shift light for the ears……….

the actual installation was a breeze, once i got the old muffler off took like 5 – 10 mins to install this one. biggest issue i had was the tips i felt were too big and i broke both bolts that were supposed to tighten the tips. After a trip to the local Lowes i bought some stainless nuts and bolts and broke a couple of those trying to get the tips tight enough. i ended up having to make a couple of shims and carefully putting the tips on so you couldnt see the shims. finally got the tips tight enough i think, i still check them frequently because to replace the tips is almost 100 bucks from Flowmaster. sounds great, but like someone else had said the interior noise can be a bit much. havent had any issues using the uconnect though. i drive interstate every day to and from work, i just turn the radio up.

Nice loud aggressive exhaust. If you want loud then get this exhaust had it for nearly a year now and I still love it. There is some highway drone but it doesn’t bother me and it’s not the worst drone. Paint chips easy tho that’s my only complaint.

I installed this muffler on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. The inside noise level is excessive. While accelerating I would get about 80Db at about 40MPH (around 2100 RPM) at 55 the noise level is acceptable but at 70MPH it is again 80Db and if you increase to 75MPH the noise level increases to between 84-85Db. I drive 1 hour each way to work on the highway at 70Mph, my head is pounding at the end of my ride. You are also unable to use your Jeep “UConnect” phone as people cannot hear you because of the exhaust noise. The UConnect will also not understand you to make a call if you are anywhere around the 2000RPM range. I like the dual exhaust tip look but not worth damaging my hearing over.

Awesome upgrade. Great sound. (warning, a little drowning in a hard top, but well worth the sacrifice for what comes out the back). Good subtle growl at idle. Comes alive at 2500rpm. Super easy install (depending on the uninstall of your stock unit. Brut force may be in order). Warning: be careful with the tips, overtightening will snap the braze on screw mount. follow torque instructions. You will be happy with your purchase. As I said in the title, you will lose a little clearance on the rear angle with the larger tips.
