Honestly for the price I was surprised. I do however have experience working as a luthier professionally, and hopefully can give some insight to anyone looking to purchase this.
It appears to be made of the correct wood, cheap spruce and cheap maple. In the violin I received there was a total of 3 very faint flames in one rib. The fingerboard was a very light ebony or hardwood but did have somewhat of a scoop.
I did take the top and back off to check thickness. This was a real chore because it’s glued together with some kind of sticky synthetic glue. I would recommend trying to heat it to loosen it, but regardless it left a lot of splinters as it really wasn’t designed to come apart.
The linings are not made properly, there’s just a strip of wood along the edges and wasn’t properly adhered.
The thickness of the plates are actually correct, although you can see the remnants of CNC tool marks–it’s a bit rough on the inside.
It came with a cheap set of steel strings, fingerboard, pegs, soundpost, chinrest (interestingly the bracket was not installed and you would have to drill the holes yourself here), uncut bridge, and a slip of chinese newspaper.
You will have to set the neck yourself.
But surprisingly, the finished instrument sounds quite good with a proper set of strings. It was a fun project.

The pieces don’t seem to fit together logically. The directions are only in Chinese.

Arrived in “one piece”, er – multiple pieces. As described in the ad! One complaint is that it arrived loose, in a box, and a few of the thinner pieces got beat up, but I’m going to paint this as a gift for a family member, so it’ll be fine for me. Also wish the sound post was already put in, but I’ll manage. My biggest complaint is that the body does not have a slot for the neck to slide in. I would’ve thought that would be provided since it’s not just glue and go.

Nice finish everything but directions. Lots of parts to do fine tuning on.
