Flat and brite. Nice strings

These really are good strings, but, like all strings, it’s a personal preference thing. I felt like their tone is definitely and noticeably brighter than most flat wound strings. However, since they are technically ground wound and not flat wound, the finger feel is substantially different than flats — which is to say, they’re still kinda rough on the finger tips and don’t give you those nice noiseless slides that flats will. My take is this: If you’re coming from mostly playing round wounds and you’re looking for something in the neighborhood of flats without losing lots’o’brightness, these are definitely worth your while, BUT if you’re coming from flats and looking an extra bit’o’brightness maybe try something like D’Addario Chromes which seem (in my opinion) to be the brightest sounding of the flats out there.
