Great little AC, blows cold air, easy to use, and works after a year. 1 con, it’s extremely loud, like it’s in the other room and you can’t sleep because of the noise loud. Just something to keep in mind.

it comes with the pipe and window attachment so you don’t have to buy it, it’s grey not black, i got the 12,000 btu not wifi because the higher the btu the more powerful it’ll blow air and cali heat isn’t a joke. it blows cold my vents didn’t wanna open at first but it’s cause the top one wasn’t connected got it fixed. i got it for a single room i’ve seen people tryna use it for a whole house it wont work like that maybe if u get 3-4 depending how big ur house is maybe lol but for a single room it’s great 🙂 i did notice it has scratches fresh out the box but it’s whatever i wouldn’t recommend getting warranty just keep the box to put it in during winter or buy a plastic storage bin from walmart to protect it. i’ve seen the black + decker ones and they are small compared to this one, i’ve also seen other versions this ones huge and it blows ice cold air. ITS VERY LOUD LOL

Had mine for almost a year now and I don’t have anything bad to say about it. No leaking, no malfunctions, practically ready to go out of the box. The remote control works with ease, the air blows with force, it can cool AND dehumidify at the same time, only thing I could gripe about is the noise is a little louder than I’d expect but it’s not that bad and if you like fan noise while you sleep, this is satisfactory. I could see how it could be heavy to move, especially to drain for some folks but it’s got a nice handle and the weight is balanced.

Setup was very simple and easy, took less than 10 minutes. It only had 2 fan modes which are not to different. It’s very loud, i’m a pretty light sleeper so that sucks.

With the crazy heat wave we’ve experienced in Los Angeles, it was time to buy a portable A/C unit. I came across the Shinco 8,000 BTU and it was just what we’ve needed.
Price: It was the most affordable one around $240 for the unit as many other A/C units are more expensive.
Initial Impressions: Upon opening the box, we’ve noticed the unit was a bit damaged in terms of the plastics by the buttons. Otherwise, the A/C unit was easy to install and configure. The only issue was the heat duct window screen was too large for our small window so, we’ve improvised by jamming a piece of foam on the frame. With 60 degrees, the A/C blows relatively cold for it’s size. The unit is pretty loud and perhaps it’s louder than our LG 10,000 BTU unit. When the Shinco A/C is off, it shows the current room temperature and that’s a great feature.
Verdict: Decent quality A/C despite the plastics already coming off from a new unit. The 8,000 BTU is a perfect application for those who’ve want an energy efficient unit as well as conserving space. If you’re looking for a high quality A/C, I suggest go elsewhere since, I’m not confident this unit will last long based on the first impressions. We’ve had old Royal Sovereign and a LG A/C unit. Royal Sovereign worked for more than a decade and our LG unit still works great. I’m not as confident this Shinco would last long, time will tell.

This is our second one, first one is a 12000 btu last year and cools most of our raised ranch except for the bedroom so we bought the 8000 btu for the bedroom, same brand, works great, its a large room and kept it cool, i also bought the warrantee for both of them (shit happens) If your looking for a air conditioner these do work grate and very easy set up and easy to use !!!. OH the only issue i had was the window vent was to long for my windows, trimmed it to fit.

Obviously the negative votes were a result of defective units. However, I purchased mine 13 months ago, set it on my galley sink in my 35 feet sailboat and run it 24/7. The condensate water drains into my sink. Obviously, the exhaust hose gets very hot, so I purchased the thermal insulation film from Amazon, wrapped it around the hose and the system works perfectly.
