I really enjoy building things, so when I had the opportunity to order the VannMold Super Space Shuttle Building Set I had to get it. I am verry glad I had, this was a fun and challenging build, it took probably close to 10-12 hours in total. The finished build is quite large and heavy but holds together perfectly. I can easily remove the fuel tank as well as the rockets if I wanted just the shuttle itself. Like many builds that are similar to this one, the instructions are in picture format but very clear and easy to follow. I really like the attention to detail and how you are able to open the cargo bay, you can also remove the cargo easily. The clamping arms swing open as well allowing for a mock “takeoff”. The lights are a great addition, adding that bit of realism during the night. This is an excellent build, that is challenging but not overly hard due to the great instructions. I would recommend this for anyone who like me, enjoys building blocks and the space shuttle.

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to build a space shuttle, but I don’t have a NASA-sized budget,” then this is the toy for you! With over 2200 pieces, this set has more parts than a real space shuttle (don’t quote me on that).
The 19.6″ height of the finished product is impressive, but let’s be honest, it’s still smaller than your cat and won’t scare away the neighbor’s dog. But hey, it’s the perfect size to launch small action figures into “space” (also known as the living room ceiling).
This set is labeled as an “Expedition Collectible Shuttlecraft,” which sounds fancy and important. Just remember, it’s not actually going to fly you to the moon, but it will definitely fly you to the land of fun and creativity.
Ideal for young boys, girls, teens & adults? Absolutely! But let’s face it, the adults are going to be the ones staying up late into the night trying to find that one tiny piece that rolled under the couch.

With >2000 pieces it came organized in a really well mannered way with clear instructions on how to put the set together. These building blocks are incredibly affordable compared to the competition. It’s a fantastic present for an older child or the adult that just wants to put together a complicated set. The finished product is very satisfying and looks great.

I was not expecting what I got (in a good way). I do a ton of brick building, both European and East Asian brands, and the level of packaging that went into this reminded me of a $400+ vehicle set – it wasn’t, but it was real close. So upon opening the box, you’re greeted with additional boxes. Inside the boxes are bags for each step with the smaller bags inside of them. The green in me wasn’t happy and wish they were in paper, but hte builder in me was happy with the organization, like real happy. The set is larger than you think it is (in a good way) and the there are a good amount of satisfying moments. I built this with my wife, and the ONE thing I wish they did was break the book and steps up by structure so that multiple people can build at the same time, but I am fully aware that isn’t necessarily normal and don’t hold it against them.

It was very fun building the spaceship. It makes a great gift. Instructions are easy to read and follow. Great for any age. And result is pretty cool. Highly recommend.

I have virtually all the realistic space sets Lego has made. I got this one to compare to the two other large space shuttle sets I have. This one is a good build, but it’s weird. The design is very stylized and not realistic, but that’s obvious from the photos. The greebling around the base and inside the clear sections use up a lot of the part count. They’re also time consuming to build, especially the top surface of the launch pad.
The overall design is pretty sturdy. The tower part is pretty easy to knock apart, but it’s solid enough for the purpose.
The lights are ok, but not great. they’re all aimed pretty low and they run on tiny button batteries, so they won’t last long.
My set was missing a single part – a long axle that supposed to run up the center of the orange fuel tank. It still builds just fine without it, but that would have made it stronger.
