For 35 years, we have lived in a two story home with 30 windows – the old 6 over 6, or 8 over 8, small panes, coupled with storm windows that slide up and down. My wife and I dread doing the windows, so we had put it off for a couple of years. We have tried various window cleaners combined with either paper towels or newspaper, but have always had streaks and stuff that collects in the corners of each pane. My wife would be pointing out streaks on my side of the glass and I would be pointing out streaks on her side of the glass. This year, I decided to try the Griot’s Window Cleaner, which I have used on my cars for many years. I coupled it with Griot’s Lint Free Towels, which Amazon doesn’t seem to sell, so we got a box of 150 from Griot’s website. The combination was simply amazing – no streaks and no lint in the corners! My wife was on the inside of the windows with a 35 ounce sprayer and I had one on the outside of the house. The one gallon container was intended to refill the containers, but we each only used about 1/2 of our 35 ounce containers for the entire house. We did the whole job in about four hours = MUCH faster than any previous window cleaning. The windows look GREAT! We were so happy at how well it worked on the main house that we decided to attack our attached sunroom, which has three walls of glass. We hadn’t cleaned those windows in about ten years, but it took less than an hour to have the entire sunroom sparkling. I am truly impressed at how well this product worked, and how quickly we were able to do all our house windows.

Gets windows very clean, but can leave a film if you’re not careful. I use Griot’s products exclusively, and am usually very happy with the results. In this case, it works, but I am considering switching to something else. The towels don’t wipe well with the cleaner unless you use more product (as in they “stick” to the window surface), but then you get a streaky film that you cannot see until it is darker out and headlights hit the windshield. One of these microfibers dry will not wipe well enough to buff as directed, so you must use a different towel that doesn’t seem to get it all off. My wife has taken two of the microfibers for interior cleaning, and with a different non-ammonia glass product she loves them. The first time I am not thrilled with a Griot’s product.

I have been using invisible glass cleaner for years, but it’s starting to get expensive specially with the 7 cars I clean weekly. This works very well cleaning the windows and rarely leaves a streak as long as you keep flipping your towel on the clean side after each section. Will buy this again!

If you would have asked me a year ago if I’d consider spending $25 on glass cleaner I’d probably look at you funny. Things change however when you buy a nice car and have tinted windows. After reading Matt’s suggestions on obsessedgarage.com I bought this stuff and the packaged deal with microfiber cloths was an added bonus.
It works, that’s basically it. It removes the small water stains on glass from washing your car and not fully drying the windows fast enough and leaves a really nice, streak free appearance on the interior without damaging tint.
The bottle is a really niced sized, weighted well and a great nozzle on it. I will most likely buy this buy the gallon next time and re-use the bottle. I also use it kind of sparingly, so it’s not like it will be empty anytime soon.

I really liked Windex nature’s source, but for some reason they stopped selling it? My search for a like cleaner found this. I’ve used Griot’s Garage products for years & I’ve generally had good results with their products. I use this for glass & surface cleaning. So far, it’s been doing a pretty good job.
The pros:
+ Same price as on the Griot’s Garage website, but here on Amazon you get FREE shipping!
+ Ammonia free, safe for use on tinted glass. â—„ We use this on our TV & computer screens, also our glasses.
+ Alcohol-based, evaporates quickly.
+ Clear, no coloring is added.
+ Very little noticeable odor.
The cons:
– This glass cleaner is on the expensive side. â—„ Still… this has become my go to “all surface cleaner”!
– This isn’t product related, more a shipping issue. The seal on the gallon jug had come loose & perhaps 1/4 cup of cleaner had leaked out. This was enough to wet the shipping box, but not enough cleaner was lost to bother with a return & replacement. â—„ A follow up, none of the shipments after this one had a leak. 🙂
