Let me start with my conclusion – at this price point you’d be better served and save money too by opting for a barbell weight set (including 6 weights for lifts of 66, 55, and 44 pounds) instead of this.
With a 100 lb weight capacity this barbell weighs 16 lbs. Like products with a 200 lb capacity weigh only 5 lbs. Perhaps the extra weight is to insure stability without having clamps.
The positive is that you can use this without dumbbells and still have a meaningful workout.
My dumbbell collection (6 pairs) ranges from 3 to 12 lbs with 8 lbs my favorite. Adding the 3lb pair to this barbell is plenty for me.

Switching weight has never been this fast and easy while still retaining safety. Literally all I had to do is place my two 25 pound dumbells in the bracket and lift the bar up. Maybe it’s me, but I swear the bar alone weighs more than the 17 pounds claimed. The best part is I feel no wrist strain when doing arm curls or overhead presses as the swiveling bracket auto levels with each controlled motion.

This PivotBar Dumbell Barbell Converter just made turned my weight stack into a full home gym for our entire family! I am totally psyched! It is well made and sturdy! I owned bar bells and certainly used them for a variety of exercises… BUT THIS PivotBar! It totally amps up my exercise routine, enabling me to do tons of other weight lifting exercises in a very balanced way. AND, everyone else in my family can use it as well — simply by adjusting which dumbells they readily slot into each game. Whether for your home gym or a professional gym or other fitness/spa facility — this is a beautiful, functional piece of equipment!

What a great invention. I have a full variety of dumbbells and for many things, they are fine. But there are also many exercises where I would prefer a barbell, but I didn’t want the clutter or additional cost of getting a barbell system for home. Then this comes along! I have a set of Bowflex as well as neoprene, vinyl and steel dumbbells ranging between 10 and 50 lbs. The bar works with all of them. The rotation of the holders works great to keep the dumbbells on and stable, without noticeable swing. The size is great, not as wide as typical barbell bars but wide enough for both me and my husband (6′ ft 185lbs) to use comfortably. Great find, highly recommend to solve the small at-home gym problem and to save you substantial cost.

Overall, a really cool barbell for dumbbell conversions. Great weight and feel. Could use some rubber in holder to lock in dumbbell a bit better but it still holds fine.

I have accumulated a bunch of dumbbells over the years and lately I have been taking more of an interest in weight training. I love that this device will let me use my dumbbells in a barbell type configuration. This is so helpful and with this there is no need to spend money on weight plates.
I love that this will work with all of the different dumbbells that I have because it operates on the principles of gravity. There is no need to clamp the dumbbell in place, with this device you just let gravity take care of things. The swivel works great to keep the weight in the correct position. Also changing weights is fast and easy because there’s no clamps. Just lift the dumbbell out! So simple and cost effective because it works with all weights!
Highly recommended for anyone who has a bunch of different types of weights!

I’ve been getting into home exercising, and already spend a lot on an adjustable dumbbell set. Some moves call for a barbell and I really didn’t want to go out and buy all new weights so I’ve been missing out…until now. This is the perfect solution. This is a well made, sturdy bar, weighing in over 15 lbs. by itself, so it feels good knowing it’s stable for holding the weights. I’m super happy to add this in and be able to use my existing weights to expand my exercise routine!

This works just fine and pivots and holds the weights as advertised but the barbels slide when lifting the bar with them on. Will be adding some type of rubber sleeve or maybe just cushion tape to help prevent the barbells from slipping.
