I haven’t planted anything yet. They have slits on the bottom for drainage…they arrived in a sealed plastic so they don’t get wet before use…they’re a greyish brown. Good price!
Bruce M. Mclaughlin –
Just as described
A. Franciscus –
Un tamaño perfecto.

I thought these were great! Some did come a little smooshed together but if you gently pull them a part it’s really easy to unsquish them. They are meant to go in the ground or pots so if the get wet when stacked together it might make them unusable so just be careful.

I bought these because I needed a lot more peat pods than I had originally anticipated and I was concerned that they might be not as good quality as the Jiffy pots you get at the store…
These little guys far exceeded my expectations, so much so that I bought 120 more!! They definitely are not made of peat, or at least not mostly peat, seems like they are mostly recycled paper, which sounds like it would be super flimsy but they are not!
Each pot has 4 cutouts in the bottom and I do bottom water so that was important for me. They do take about twice as long to soak up the water compared to Jiffy pots, but the moisture all goes to the soil, not the pot!!
I’ve attached some pics here and you can tell the difference. The second picture has 2 Jiffy pots in the front, all were watered at the same time. The Jiffy pots are completely wet whereas the Vivosun pots are still firm but the soil inside is damp like it should be.
If you’re even considering using peat pods for your gardening needs this year, give these a try, highly economical and practical, durable too. Highly recommend!
Last picture is for scale comparison next to a small Burpee seed start tray and an egg carton.
